What Parents Say
Richland Head Start receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from most parents, with particular praise for dedicated teachers, safe environment, and educational curriculum. However, two parents raised serious concerns about communication accessibility and safety/supervision issues, particularly regarding building security and special needs support.
I have had a blessed experience with Richland Head Start. Mrs. Jarvaney and Mrs. Brittany have been great as my coordinators for my Kids. Paige has also went all out in making sure that the kids get services in helping them to be better students . The Teachers and staff work hard with the kids. It's a very safe environment with a curriculum that helps the children not only develop nicely but. prepare the education wise helping them to up to par . They also take the goals for children very seriously and are also great support for families. They Teachers nor the center mind keeping you informed on day to day activities. The teachers go above and beyond and really get to know the personalities of these children. They make our kids a priority and is a very safe environment. Overall I'm blessed to have my kids at Richland Head Start. Proud Parent Keitha Green 😃
No security in place. My 3 year old special needs granddaughter got out of the building via the front door on two separate occasions. Not enough teacher to child ratio in the extended care. I've walked in and children were on tables. All adults there need to have better training on how to handle special needs children. Was promised my girls would get the speech, physical and occupational therapy they needed but never even had an evaluation to determine the level of therapy needed. I do not recommend this center to anyone!!!!!!
I love Richland and every teacher my child has had. She has behavior issues and the teachers are sooo patient with her and they have many resources to give.
The building is not secure enough for the teacher to children ratio. Not enough folks there to handle the quantity of children they have. Further training is needed for the teachers whom deal with special needs children . They need better understanding of dealing with those children .
My son has had a Fantastic year this school year . Richland has challenged him in every subject. We love Richland !
