This church is hosting "restore hope network annual conference," a hateful, "ex-gay" conference. This place is unsafe for lgbtq+ people. Conversion therapy is violent and abuse, and this church should not be entrusted with the care of children. May they repent of their sinful ways and be restored to God's love
Love this church and the way they serve the community and stand in the truth with love and compassion that God has made us in His perfect image and homosexuality is a distortion of that image and a distortion of the gospel that is displayed through marriage between men and woman. That is the truth that the church historically has stood on and that has only been changing (in some circles) in the past decade or so. Keep standing as you will only answer to God and not those that are speaking against you falsely.
God loves all his children. He never preached conversion. He didn't convert sex workers or the LGBTQ community. He didn't hang out with what society considered "bad" people to fix them. He loved them. He cared for them. Conversion therapy is a sick sick ungodly practice and any church that supports it has been misled by false preachings and their flock is being blinded by such an abhorrent concept. Avoid this church. Find one that preaches love and caring.
If you are followers of Christ, please lead by spreading love and acceptance, not hate and shame. I am saddened and disgusted to see that this church hosted a "conversation therapy" conference. This place is NOT inclusive or friendly to the LGBTQ+ members in our community.
I just love that Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran boldly stands for the truth of gospel hope and transformation: no one is born perfect, ALL have sinned, but ALL are loved beyond comprehension by their Creator God, who desires that ALL would come to him for the healing that only he can bring. This is not always a popular message, but it's truth and good news! Oh that there were more churches that would take such a bold yet loving stand.
