The YMCA is a great place for all families to go they have activities for the children teenagers adults they have Zumba classes yoga classes weight rooms and to play basketball ballet classes arts and crafts for the children and a swimming 🏊♂️ pool as well as swimming lessons for those that want to learn to swim and a children park and playground on the left side of the YMCA and the schools also have programs for the special needs children although the Guardians that supposed to be watching the children need to pay more attention to the children than to socialize with each other the special needs children do have fun and that really put a smile on my face but the only thing that really concerns me is that their water fountains does not have filters the water literally has a smell coming out of it because when I drank it it really left me dehydrated for a few hours I mean it's not so hard to put filters in those water fountains they need to keep the water clean and then you have the automatic door opener for the handicapped for people that are working with canes crutches or wheelchairs because for one to constantly pull that heavy door open just to walk in is a problem I mean they have an automatic door opener and it hasn't been working for weeks why do they continue to ignore that knowing that's very important they need to attend to those little things it not a big job but it's very important to maintain those are the only two problems that should be taken care of quickly but other than that the staff and the people that work there are wonderful the people they're always greet you with a smile and with positive attitudes and it just makes you feel wanted the YMCA is a happy place to be and they make you feel part of a family they have plenty of parking and plenty of handicapped ♿ parking as well but the water fountains and the handicap automatic door opener need to be attended to as soon as possible and they also want to charge there members a locker fee wich i find very unfair to do to the members they pay enough money to join the YMCA why charge the members a locker fee when the members should have access to free locker and not charge talk about highway Robbery to all members knowing No other gym does this to there members NOT cool at all to do that need to change A.S.A.P I give them a C+ and I hope they attend to the little things fast to get that A++ but like always YMCA corporates always starts blowing smoke to customers and members they have a maintenance man they pay very well and yet he chooses what he feels like he wants to fix corporate again still doesn't attend to their customers and members 55 and up should not have to pay a separate fee just to have a locker But Like corporate they don't want to do nothing they just want to continue getting the money from their customers and members and basically a lot of members are disappointed because corporate makes promises they never keep this is why it's better for people just to go to other gyms become members there at least the locker and provided for the members without fees without hassles and without any problems of keeping the equipment up to date the YMCA corporate model is the all Mighty Dollar and the hell with everybody else cause that's how a lot of us members feel corporate only cares about charging their members and customers extra separate fees just so they can still keep running to the bank and Count Their dividends and because they have not attended to the to the situations in hand especially for separate fees for locker is not only ridiculous but insulting to the members that can't afford the extra fees so because the YMCA refuses to do anything about reduce their rating is a must
Andrew is a wonderful swimming instructor — attentive, experienced, and great with children. With each lesson, my three-year-old son feels more confident in the water and is adapting quickly. We’re incredibly grateful to Andrew for his professionalism and caring approach!
I wouldn’t even give a star if I didn’t have to. At the end of June, I was told there would be a promotion over the 4th of July weekend waiving the registration fee. I decided to wait until then. To my surprise, when I went that weekend, they had closed early and were then closed for the holiday. I finally went that Sunday, only to be told it was a one-day deal — something no one ever mentioned. When I reached out to the manager, Ms. Rifkin, she claimed there were signs and that she knew because she took them down Monday morning. There were absolutely no signs when I was there. Her customer service was terrible — basically telling me “tough luck.” It’s so unfortunate that I live in this town but would rather drive to another YMCA where they actually value and appreciate their members.
Even though the monthly fee is expensive, they do not provide proper maintenance. This machine has been damaged for more than a month and they never repair it.
My family and I have been members for about 6 months now. We really like it and all of the staff. My children have taken their swim class(Norma is a great instructor), little ninjas and my daughter is still in martial arts with Matt.(another amazing instructor). The group swim class, in my opinion has too many kids but Norma still managed to teach them good skills. We had a concern about something in the swim class and it was immediately addressed by several staff members. Which we appreciated. They have a small day care room to leave the kids in while you work out. It's only 1 dollar per kid. I've only used it once but it seemed great. The woman watching the kids was very attentive, nice and sweet to my children. My only frustration is the price for the martial arts class seems to be a bit much and the class is very full now. However, I'm sure that is a reflection of what a great instructor Matt is. They often have free activities and events for the family but especially for the kids. The pool has free life vests for anyone in any size.if needed.
