What Parents Say
Rancho Murieta Learning Center (also called Hodge Learning Center) receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from most parents, who praise the caring staff, director Ms. Debbie's experience, individualized attention, and children's visible happiness and development. However, one parent reported serious concerns about owner communication, lack of partnership with families, and defensive behavior when issues were raised, resulting in a complaint to authorities.
My son started at Hodge when he was 5 months old. Having him attend here has been the decision we’ve made. He smiles each morning when we get out of the car and is smiling when I pick him up. It’s obvious that he enjoys his time here. The staff is very friendly, personable, helpful and supportive. They communicate well and discuss milestones with us. The room is very organized. I love how they keep my son’s diapers, wipes and clothes there, so in the morning I just need to bring him and breast milk. It’s an amazing place and I’d recommend it if you’re looking for childcare.
Both of my sons started attending Hodge Learning Center at just 3 months old. My boys are loved and cared for by a wonderful group of people. The staff here treats my boys as if they were their own. They provide nutritious meals for my toddler and encourage him to try new foods on a regular basis, and they also promote his love for learning. My youngest is still in the infant room and he squeals with excitement everyday at drop off. I’m so lucky to have found a place like Hodge where I know my boys are safe and happy.
Our two kids, ages 3 and 1, are thriving at Hodge Learning Center. We switched from a larger (and much more expensive) center about a month ago, and we wish would have done so sooner. The staff here truly love and care about the kids. The director, Ms. Debbie, has decades of experience in early childhood education, and she works alongside the teachers in the classroom. Because this is smaller, community-based center, the kids get much more individual attention, and the teachers always have fun activities planned for the kids. We have especially noticed positive development from our toddler since making the switch. He is talking much more, and he had made huge strides in potty training. He is happy to go to school in the morning, and he is excited to tell us all about his day after pick-up. This place is also truly part of the community, and parents are very involved. For example, Ms. Debbie started a special reading time where dads, grandfathers, or father-figures read to the kids. In the summer, the kids get to take weekly walking field trips to places in the community (fire station, grocery store for donuts, local restaurant for special lunch, etc.). We are really glad to have our kids here.
Miss Debbie and the entire Hodge team is so fantastic! My baby is loved and cared for. I can see that the other kids are happy to be there as well. Whenever I walk in to drop off or pick up my baby, the other kids are smiling and excited. They are all saying, “baby! baby!” when I walk in. It melts my heart. So lucky to have such wonderful childcare so close to our home.
My infant and toddler have been at Hodge for six months and we have been so pleased at the close knit feel. Every teacher really knows all the kids and they are very communicative. Our toddler used to go to a fancier (and MUCH more expensive) Montessori school but when we moved to Wilton we switched and I’m so glad we did. Hodge is still play based but everyone really knows each child, my toddler’s language exploded, and they both are clearly attached to their teachers. Would definitely recommend! J
