What Parents Say
Ralph J. Stolle Countryside YMCA is a large, well-equipped facility with generally positive feedback about its amenities, staff, and kiddie care services. However, some members report ongoing maintenance issues, poor customer service, and operational problems that detract from the experience.
We have just joined and I must say I’m shocked by some of these reviews. For someone who is coming from The Cincinnati Sports Mall, I have extremely high standards. My husband and I take my 1.5 yr old granddaughter to the kiddie care. (This is her first time away from us, so we of course are worried she will cry). We look in the window and get a thumbs up for us return to working out. I’m truly grateful for these women!! They are THE most nurturing group. As for working out, I really like the guy on TU & TH 50+ class at 9:15 AM. Also my daughter loves the Monday 10:40AM kiddie swim class with Ms Liz. She adores her. Let’s just hope the outdoor kid’s pools is up to standards! All in all, great job❤️
Costs too much for everything to be closed, broken, cancelled, and have terrible customer service. Trying to get swim lessons was terrible and canceling them was worse. It made me pay for the month before their first class and through the summer. 10 min after scheduling (online) my son’s ball scheduled changed. There was no way to cancel online. I called and emailed the swim dept for three days straight and no one called me back. On the fourth day I called the front desk and their response was “there are QR codes all around the building for you to use to cancel.” Two days in a row I walked the whole buidling and asked where one was, not one staff member could tell me. Finally a few days after what was to be the first day of lessons, they called to tell me they were dropping him from the class but we still had to pay for the full 4 months we were charged because they don’t do refunds. We disputed it with our credit card company and then I got an email from the Y saying they were going to refund us since we were new members. This summer, the pools have been closed almost all of June! The one day we got to use the outdoor pool my son cut both feet on rocks and glass around the pool. The concrete at the ladders are crumbling so much we couldn’t use them to get out. We had to pull ourselves out on the side of the pool in the shallow end. Equipment in the cardio room is almost always down. The front desk claimed I didn’t have membership several times and accused me of lying. I had to bring in my financial statement to show they were charging me, turns our they forgot to click “facility access” when they set up my membership.
My daughter use to go for swimming lessons from past 1 year. Initially they took for level 3. After so many months they swapped to level 4. Recently, once again they swapped to level 3. I don’t feel it’s worth it to join kids for swimming lessons here. No punctuality. Even they always 5 mins late start in lessons.
Easily one of the largest and most versatile YMCA facilities I’ve ever been too. Tons of equipment for exercisers of all fitness levels. Love the Life Fitness and Hammer Strength especially. They have a cafe, game room, nice clean locker rooms and so much more. Highly recommended.
They do a fantastic job, no where has there been so many pools indoor or outdoor facilities for families to enjoy. They need to understand that for the family price of going there, it needs to start giving features other fitness clubs offer... II want 24 hr access to the cardio and cable based weight room.
