I grew up in Mesa for most of my life and most people I knew came here. Moved to Gilbert in 1996 and moved back to Mesa in 2021. Started going back to Queen Of Peace and signed up to complete my adult sacraments. I absolutely loved it. Even though I didn’t do my sacraments as a child I felt like I learned to appreciate what I was learning and came to class an hour early, took notes interacted with others in my class. It made me extremely happy. Deacon Tom taught our classes along side with James. Others would pop in to visit or discuss things with us like Father Harold, Deacon Richard. I had to have my mom come in and complete a notarized document stating I was baptized. That was something new I learned about myself (emergency delivery, emergency baptism) that wasn’t aware of. My mom had the opportunity to meet both Deacon Tom and James he was so kind enough to give my mom the same portrait we were gifted once we completed our class. I felt like I had purpose and I looked forward to going. Anyone who is unsure if they want to do this I would suggest to do it. Don’t feel scared or nervous. It’s definitely a life changing experience. I will always remember this for my entire life. God bless you all… 🙏
This church has been our Family's choice for most of our Baptizmals, Confirmations, 1st Communions, Religious education classes, and Funeral masses. I grew up here, raised my kids here, and now have brought my Grandkids.
I feel safe and welcome here. Even people I don't know greet me and wave from across the parking lot. The three priests are wonderful. Their dedication to loving their parishioners is very evident. I am so thankful to have found this church! And thanks be to God for daily mass♡ 🙏 the attached image is of the adoration chapel. Also a word about communion: They ask that you receive communion in the hand due to COVID, but I have seen that if you are the last one to receive communion they will usually allow you to receive on the tongue.
This is the church I grew up in. I did holy communion, we baptized.here, we used to come to all the fiestas, they were so fun. Doing cake walk games and just a good time. My whole family and extended family, is still active in the church. This is our go to church to have funeral services done, baptisms, etc. so I have nothing bad to say about this church. I shall say that Deacon Richard, is the best at doing funeral services to me. Makes you feel very comfortable and is a caring man. Known him for a long time, good man!! Over all it's a good church. If your catholic.. Now, Speaking for myself , as a adult,.my views have changed and I don't go to catholic masses anymore. except for funeral services etc. Nothing personal about Queen of Peace though. Still nice church. I just feel differently about this religion, after knowing what I no now, it's just me and God now! He's all I need ,no more middle man to tell me what to pray n how many times to pray it n ill be forgiven? No thanks, He already forgave all of us and no need to do all that THEY tell me to. Furthermore, In the name of Jesus , AMEN!!
Beautiful parish and the services, I will return for mass again soon Thank Lord for blessing me going to this beautiful parish..
