Purple Turtle Preschool, LLC

In the beginning we were VERY happy with this school. Then, in August, we received a letter stating that they felt my child was "developmentally ready to be permanently placed into the academy". We were concerned because he was not potty trained. The owner/director assured us that was fine, that the teachers at the academy would be able to help him much more.We let them know that Veronica said it was ok that he was not potty trained and we were told they were told by Ms. Veronica that she had no idea he wasn't potty trained. A lie. 3 of us, mother, father, and step father, all spoke with her regarding our concern. Three months later we received a letter stating that if the child was not fully potty trained that they would be placed back into the daycare. We were fine until we discovered that they were also placing children that were not going to Kindergarten back into the daycare. The academy itself was being moved back to the daycare, but only the 4 year olds were staying with the current teacher in their own space at the main daycare facility. So not only did they place my son in a structured environment knowing he would only be there for a couple of months, but they also planned on regressing my child's development and taking him out of the structured environment he had become acclimated to. I attempted to contact the director and she would not return my calls or was never at the daycare, but had someone there to take messages. On Tuesday, November 24th, I was asked for the paperwork containing the re-enrollment packet. It was due on Monday, November 25th, but my son did not go and my car was in the shop with the paperwork. They said it would be fine to turn it in on Wednesday. On Wednesday, I turned the paperwork in and never heard back. I was off work again yesterday, November 30th, so I kept him at home with me. Today I called to see where I needed to take him when I dropped him off. No one could tell me. I had to work a few hours in our gym's childcare so I took him with me and called his school afterwards. She was still not there and still no one knew where he was supposed to go. They also informed me that they were enforcing a "no drop off after 9:30am" policy even though I let them know that the owner, Veronica, said it was fine due to our work schedule. Veronica informed them it was not ok and that our paperwork did not make it back in time therefore, my son never transferred over and his position had been filled. Now we are without a daycare and are being told that this daycare is being run by her, but everything is in her husband's name because she is not supposed to be running daycares per the state. I will find out if this is true and I will be reporting her to the state for child regression and mishandling of child development. I will NEVER recommend this school to ANYONE ever again. Of course like all the reviews, this was a terrible experience. I just thought maybe it would be different with me but no. It was terrible. The owner never could tell me my schedule so i would be waiting to hear from her the day i work. She seems ok when you first meet but she's crazy. I hadn't heard from her in a while and she wasn't answering any of my calls. One of the employees told me she was just going to ignore me so she didn't have to fire me so i couldn't draw unemployment. That's pretty low. So i WOULD NOT recommend this place or bringing your child here since they will just get passed back and forth in different age group classes. All they do is play and watch TV all day. I never saw them teach them anything.

I am a single parent and my son Recently started here a week ago April 23rd. The first day I picked him up I updated my information with the teacher . The second day I picked him up I over heard another teacher yelling at the kids and they are under 12 months . Okay so that rubbed me the wrong way . The 3rd day I took him to emergency room because he had a fever the night before . The doctors cleared me to take him to daycare they said it was probably lbecause he was teething. So I took him in and let the teacher know all the details about his fever and going to the doctor . I gave them medicine just in case but his fever was gone by the time I took him in .. anyways so I go home and take a nap and wake up to a police banging on my door saying your son is on the way to the hospital he has a fever and he’s trembling . So I look at my phone and I had like 15 missed calls NONE From the daycare . So I’m like okay I call my aunt and she says the lady at the daycare has called your job and called your sons pediatrician and she’s mad because your not at work and she Says you lied about taking your son to the doctor his pediatrician said it’s been a few months since she’s seen him . So at this point I’m pissed because I work 3rd shift currently looking for 1st and he hasn’t seen his pediatrician since he was 9 months and he turned 1 yesterday so he will see her this week . She also said I lied about working and that my job said that I didn’t work there . Which was a lie . She told me that th pediatrician gave her information on my son . Which they were not suppose To do but the point is she went out of her way (Veronica) to make me look bad . And never once contacted me about my child . She called the ambulance to get him and told them he had a seizure and my aunt rushed there and the ambulance said there was no sign of seizure . So my son rode to hospital for evaluation and I called Veronica before i got to the hospital and asked what was going on and she said he had a fever .but when I got there that’s when I actually found out all the information about her calling my job and all of that . So I called her back and asked why she never called me and she said she didn’t have my number and I told her I updated my information with one of the teachers she simply said “well I didn’t get It” . . She’s unprofessional, does Not need to be working around kids , she needs to hire more smiling faces because every morning I go in there the staff are mean mugging and acting like they would rather be somewhere else.. if anybody could direct me to a better day care for my child . And also give m the number so I can report this daycare because the way Veronica runs her business is ridiculous .

My kids and family LOVE Purple Turtle. My older two have moved on to elementary now, but they always get excited when we drive by, and I enrolled my newborn there recently. He gets lots of attention and is always content when I pick him up. I'm glad I made the choice in Purple Turtle.

Owner does not know how to run a daycare. She sucks. Doesn't know what she is doing. She is never there. She's already been shut down before and she needs to be shut down again for good.
