Puerto Rican Community Center is more than a preschool, it is truly a village. As an early childhood professional for the past 20 years in both positions as a teacher and an administrator, I haven’t seen a more dedicated team then Ms. Melinda, Ms. Jessica and Ms.Christina. Their commitment is extraordinary both to their students and the community through their acts of service and providing quality early childhood education through learning and play. The Puerto Rican Community Center was my foundation in my educational endeavors, and it was pleasure to volunteer at the 50th year celebration field day.
Let me start by saying Miss Madison and miss Elizabeth are wonderful and actually took the time to learn the needs of my daughter and actually loved her. However, she didn’t start in that class. The class she started in had SEVEN different teachers. They were quitting left and right, THEN started calling multiple times A WEEK because the teachers didn’t want to put in the effort my daughter deserved. They expected a FOUR year old to not be affected by the turnover rate in her FIRST year of school. They refused to accommodate my daughter with her needs until I made them switch her classroom. The director is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever met in a school setting. My daughter will not be returning there and I will be reporting this school to the board of education for its neglect of my daughter.
Puerto Rican Community Center is the best place for your child to have a fun and learning environment! The teachers are amazing and children receive the best school experience!
Disappointed with the place, I thought it would be a memory for my daughter since the name bears our island of Puerto Rico. They did not accept my daughter just because she had a pacemaker. I felt discrimination towards her. According to them, does she need a nurse? Thank God my daughter is now in a better preschool where they accepted her like any other child without needing a nurse!!!
Such an amazing school Teachers are so patient with the kids and they take the trips very seriously better then any other school in my opinion
