What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise Pro Action of Steuben and Yates for exceptional staff support and community services beyond childcare, including parenting classes, resume writing, and job searching assistance. The organization is recognized for going above and beyond to help families, with staff remembered for their friendly demeanor and non-judgmental approach. Director Kelly D. is specifically commended for her dedication and willingness to assist even those who don't meet standard requirements.
They are the absolute worst organization to deal with… like a 3 ring circus and all the monkeys running around are on fire. They create problems for people and offer solutions to those problems to make themselves seem relevant on paper because they are in constant danger of losing their funding. If I could give them zero stars I would.
Would be a zero star if possible. The point of the childcare assistance program is to assist WORKING parents in childcare and financial need, yet I had to fight like hell with them because all 3 of our jobs are inconsistent scheduling wise and I we couldn't physically on a schedule show the need for childcare yet I've provided more than enough proof of times/locations of when and where we are after each job showing it was impossible to switch kids off between each other in between jobs on time while maintaining a secure place with secure adults for my kids to be for WHEN NOT IF we end up having to go past the end times. Between my jobs alone I wake up, go to one then have to go straight to the other one until 11pm, 3am or even 7am of im working doubles which I also had my hr provide documentation stating my schedule requires overtime. All of the proof I gave didn't even include travel time. My husband was laid off from his W2 job and we have been trying to get by while we wait for a call back, so we now make half of what we were prior which is nothing even close to the family of 4 threshold for household income so now we no longer have childcare because WE CANT AFFORD IT WHICH IS WHY WE CAME HERE TO BEGIN WITH and they still denied our application so now my husband is unable to go to work at all because he has to be home with our kids while I continue to juggle jobs now even more so than when we applied because of him not being able to go to work, now causing our already struggling income to be even lower. We just went into summer also so that made it even worse because the kids don't have school, which means they are home even more now so need childcare more now than when we applied but yet somehow none of this made sense to these people. SHAME ON THIS PLACE AND THEIR CHILDCARE PROGRAM!!!!!!!
These people are all sweethearts and will help you with just about everything you might need. Parenting Classes, Resume Writing, Job Searching, you name it. They always remember your name too.
The ProAction group has always been such great help. Workforce Inclusion, Kelly D. the Director, she has literally gone above and beyond to help me. Truly appreciated!
If I could give a zero review I would. This is the worst organization I have ever dealt with. There are too many people handling cases that one person doesn’t know what the other is doing. These people do not understand the meaning of communication.
