What Parents Say
Primrose School at Austin Village receives overwhelmingly positive reviews praising staff warmth, caring teachers, and nurturing environment, though two recent negative reviews raise concerns about inclusion and accommodation of children with special needs. Most parents report their children are happy, feel at home, and thrive academically and socially at this facility.
By far the best school in the area. The staff treats their students like family. You can tell how much the teachers love their students. Miss Michelle has been an angel for our 4 yrs old son who previously attended a school down the road for 9 months and he was terrorized of that school ( LS) he cried daily for those 9 months but this has never been the case at Primrose. Miss Michelle greets his students with a big hug in the morning and another big hug at dismissal . I am forever thankful we found this amazing, nurturing and caring school.
We absolutely love this daycare. Our child started at 3 months old and is now 18 months. Every classroom our child had been in had been wonderful. The teachers and staff really make it feel like home. We don’t have family near by so this has been our biggest blessing. It’s so hard to find a trustworthy childcare and this place is that 100%!!
I told the teachers and director up front that my son is in OT for sensory and rigidity, and told them the first few weeks would be the worst. I met with the director in a sweltering hot office for 30 minutes to discuss. Set a timer so he knows things are about to change, announce a change ahead of time. Normal things for a 4 year old kid, imo. Sounds great, right? After being in the PreK room for a grand total of 4 days, my son was effectively kicked out of school because they're "not able to accommodate him." Funny that his previous daycare, which was horrible, never said that about him. No one that has met my kid has described the level of non-cooperation and tantrums they're describing, even me on his worst day. I would say that this place is fine if your kid is a perfect angel baby, but pull them out before PreK. $150 registration to hold our place for SEVEN MONTHS, $25 in uniform, $10 backpack. All down the drain in one email - that's right, not even enough respect to call me to kick us out. Not to mention that my son loved it there and came/went extremely easily and happily until his last day.
Our daughter started here at 2 yrs old, but you would think she had been here since the day she was born. We moved from out of state with horrible past experiences at previous schools so we searched long and hard to find a school we felt comfortable with. I honestly LOVE OUR SCHOOL! Seriously, I cannot come up with a single complaint. I adore the director and our teachers (Ms. Hoffman & Mrs. Story). My daughter can't wait to get to school each day, loves her friends, and lives for Happy Feet and "Cookie Friday". For me its about being home and noticing everything she has/is learning, appreciating how understanding and easy to work with they are, and finally seeing how much her teachers care about her and are not just teachers but an extension of home. Couldn't be happier!
Absolutely NOT. This is not an inclusive center at all. Nice looking facility, but some of the preschool teachers are totally dishonest and do not have the appropriate experience. One of my child's therapist came to visit 1 day as well and told me she also felt care was not what it should be. Looks can be very deceiving. This center only has a 1 star rating with the state, which I found odd.
