What Parents Say
Pride-n-Joy Preschool in Newark, Ohio has received mostly negative reviews citing serious safety and care concerns. While one college observer praised the facility's appearance and structured schedule, multiple parents reported inadequate supervision during field trips, poor hygiene practices, and unprofessional staff interactions.
Why is it so dangerous for people to drive by your school and you not have a place or a crossing guard out in front on main Street where you got people's parents coming to pick up kids almost being rear-ended everyday. Do you know that or do you even care? I know it's up to other people to pay attention, but this day and age nobody's paying attention everybody's looking down okay. I'm a person that got hit by one of these people
Picked my baby up yesterday with a horrible diaper rash, she was so red between her legs she didn't even want me wiping her and the daycare had no explanation to how my child got this way. Then my other child was taken on a field trip and came back telling me someone hurt his arm 😭. Please don't send your children here!!!!
First I want to say that I am not from the Newark area and know nothing about this preschool and/or how they operate Day to day. Today June 12, 2017, I took my children to the Columbus zoo. I noticed many times groups of little ones walking around in their neon yellow shirts. It wasn't until I watched the adult supervision walk away from her group of 4 children that I became concerned. I guess she needed napkin but to walk away from those children to an area without direct eye contact was very worrisome. Then to my disbelief while while viewing the tigers i watched another child walk away from her group into a building. This was a larger group of children but had two adults with them. the child did return to her group but I am positive that the adults did not know she was missing those couple minutes. As a parent of young children (3 & 5) I was horrified. The parents of these children trusted and are paying these adults to provide care and safety for their children. I did call the company and expressed my concern but wanted to share this so that possibly a parent will read this to know it could have been their child today not being watched. What was really sad was that it was two completely different groups of children and three adults who shouldn't have been trusted to care for those 12-15 kids. As I said in the beginning I know nothing about this company but know enough to never recommend it.
My 1 year old goes to daycare here. Almost every morning, the front desk lady has something rude to say to me. Even tried telling Me how to raise my kid. Everyone is great but this one lady. She needs to remember she's a front desk clerk.
I went to Pride-n-Joy to observe children for a class that I am taking right now in college. The place was absolutely beautiful inside and it's a lot bigger than what I ever thought it was driving by. They had a structured schedule for the kids and overall it was a great experience. Just from what I saw and observed, I would definitely bring my children here if I had any.
