What Parents Say
Precious Pearls specializes in caring for children with special needs and receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents. Multiple reviewers report significant improvements in their children's speech, behavior, and independence, along with praise for staff expertise and communication. One parent expressed frustration with the enrollment process and communication.
Our son has a speech delay and is very movement motivated and we've struggled to find the perfect place for him that would meet his needs for almost a year. Finally, his speech therapist recommended Precious Pearls. We have been so happy with the care our son has received while attending Precious Pearls. Miss Lori and Miss Cheri have been great a keeping me up to date on his daily activities, his behavior and anything else he needs. Upon meeting Miss Lori for a tour of the daycare, we knew it was the perfect fit and she was very open about their day to day activities. The way his classroom is set up allows him the freedom to get up and "get his wiggles out" if needed. They also get a lot of outside playtime as long as the weather permits - they're play area has a little bit of everything for each kid. Miss Lori holds him accountable for his behavior and has no problem correcting him in front of me when he doesn't listen. They maintain structure while also allowing the kids autonomy. I've seen a vast improvement in his speech, behavior and independence since he's joined Precious Pearls. I can't say enough about the staff, care, cleanliness of the facility and services provided. All of the kids are so happy whenever I am there to drop off or pick up. Our little guy is so excited to be dropped off every morning and is so exhausted by the end of the day. I would recommend Precious Pearls to anyone with a child who needs a little extra care that the typical daycare cannot provide.
Hands down the best daycare in my experience for my special needs daughter. We went through not one but two day-cares that mistreated my daughter due to her special needs. We were blessed to find Precious Pearls. Staff is attentive, caring, understanding and well trained to look after special needs and role model children. Everyone is taught and treated the same. There hasn't been one day in my almost four years of my daughter attending here that I question my decision for her placement. The owner, director and care givers have my upmost respect for how they handle all situations. They are very communicative when issues arise during the day, whether it be normal accidents, Covid-19 protocols, or them just calling to say your child has had an amazing day. I would recommend and have recommended Precious Pearls to anyone and everyone who is looking for child care in the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake.
When I came into contact with Precious Pearls, my 2 year old toddler was recently diagnosed with Autism and her current daycare basically told us they didn't know how to "handle" her. My daughter has now been attending PP for over 9 years. The staff have become members of our extended family. Each child is different, and the staff is highly trained to handle children with all kinds of challenges. It's obvious to see that they love the kids and it's reciprocated.
I am not a very trusting person. When it comes to my child, I am very diligent in making sure he is safe and happy. I searched for a quality daycare for 8 months. A person that handles the accreditation for schools in the area, recommended Precious Pearls. The name through me. At the daycare, I met Ms. Lorey and she gave me a "Aunt that doesn't play" type feeling. Ms. Diane made feel that she would make sure that my son was cared for and attended to. Example: Both would make sure my son expressed his feelings and looked them in the eyes when talking. They didn't baby him, but pushed him to live up to his age and peers. My son loved the staff. He was given assignments that challenged him and made him more confident. Everytime I saw Ms. Lorey she had a cleaner in hand or hangingoff of her shirt. I watched them like a hawk. I asked my son questions about his day everyday. I can honestly say I trust this daycare.
This daycare is phenomenal. They really care about each individual child and their needs. My 3 year old son has been kicked out of several daycares due to what the daycares deem is unacceptable ie: communication issues, his ability to climb and open doors, and behavioral problems that stemmed from encounters with other children. Precious Pearls has learned all of this and were instantly accepting of my son. He receives all the love and attention he deserves from these daycare professionals. I cannot expression how wonderful they truly are for my son.
