Sending my little one to this Montessori based learning center was the best decision my wife and I could have made for our child. We’ve watched him grow in confidence, independence, and kindness. The teachers truly see each child as an individual, and the fun, creative, and respectful environment has made learning a joy. Our child is excited to come to school every day. As parents, it’s incredibly reassuring to know our child is in a place where they are loved, challenged, and understood. This school feels like a second home, and we are so grateful to be part of the Portside community.
Portside Learning Center has been an amazing place for our family. We’ve sent our kids there since 2020, and the teachers are truly phenomenal. So caring, communicative, and genuinely loving with the kids. It really feels like a partnership between teachers and parents, all working together to support our kids. The community is incredible and has become a second family to us. The kids take various classes including dance, yoga, mindfulness, and even get visits from the Portland Public Library Bookmobile. The outdoor space is a huge highlight, with streams, bridges, bugs, and lots of room to explore. The kids play outside every day of the year, no matter the weather, which we love. So much thought and planning goes into each and every day. I honestly hate to think about the day when we won’t have a child at Portside anymore. Highly recommend.
I have 3 kids ages 5 and under. We've attended a couple of other daycares before we started at Portside, and we have lots of friends with little kids in other daycares. I can say without a doubt that Portside is just the absolute best. The staff is great, communication is great, the preschool program is top-notch and SO FUN - I can't believe all the stuff they do. They have a Spanish teacher, a yoga/mindfulness teacher, a dance teacher. They have a huge outdoor playspace with paths through the woods and footbridges over streams. They have veggie gardens and a field of tiny wild strawberries and a "bear cave". Over the past few years this place has become like a second family, a true community. My oldest is about to graduate and move on to Kindergarten and a tiny part of me is worried that she'll never again get the level of education, LOVE, and feeling of a "second home" that Portside gives to her every day.

Our family has been at Portside Learning Center since 2018. It has been an amazing experience. We love all the teachers and staff and everyone is very friendly, caring, supportive and love our kids like their own! My children are thriving because of the education they provide. The outdoor program is so impressive. There is Spanish, yoga, mindfulness, music, field trips! They go above and beyond in every way! I can’t recommend Portside enough!!
