What Parents Say
Polaris Learning Center receives overwhelmingly positive reviews praising staff care, cleanliness, and educational activities, though two recent negative reviews raise serious concerns about inadequate supervision, physical aggression between children, and unresponsive management to behavioral incidents.
My son has been attending the Polaris Meridian Campus for almost 3 years, he is currently in preschool and our youngest started there this year in the baby room. We had a horrible previous daycare experience and are so happy we tried Polaris, we love it there. All the teachers and other kids are great. The facilities are always kept so clean, the meals are cooked fresh daily and they have a great variety on the menu. My son loves going to “school”, the teachers do daily learning activities with new themes each week and lots of fun play/art activities. My kid surprises me with new words/animals/shapes etc so I can tell he’s really learning new things at Polaris. Overall I cannot recommend Polaris enough to other parents.
We cannot speak highly enough about our experience at Polaris. We switched our son to Polaris after a bad experience at a different meridian daycare center and the difference has been night and day. All of the teachers are so kind and caring. Even teachers who have never had our son in their class before are excited to see and welcome him by name every day. Most of the teachers have a lot of longevity at Polaris which definitely says something in an industry where teacher turnover can be very common! Our son has grown and learned so much since being at Polaris. He is excited to go to school and see his friends and teachers every day! So thankful to have found Polaris!
Ultimately decided to leave Polaris after over 2 years and we were heartbroken. Although the teachers are amazing and truly care about the kids, the environment as a whole tends to downplay issues until they become a huge deal rather than be proactive. They simply don’t have the resources or system set in place to address concerns on a serious level. There was very physical interactions in the threes class and although changes are claimed to be made it felt as though it was too little too late. As a parent I would love this environment to be one where I can drop my kid off in confidence but it turned into having to monitor my child while at Polaris. Parents must remain diligent and advocate for change because it won’t happen on its own here. The threes class at this time also had no implementation of supervision during potty breaks which is alarming for this curious age group, and resulted in avoidable situations. After many conversations a lot of changes claim to be in the works for the betterment of the class, but there needs to be some sort of accountability, transparency and clear communication with parents for this environment to become better again and for parents to know all the issues a class is experiencing and how this may impact their children.
We pulled our child out after watching him get hit and punched multiple times with not teacher interference. He was crying everyday when having to go to school and had complains that there are too many mean friends in his class. He also started picking up very aggressive behaviors that I believe he was mimicking from others after watching the camera. The violent behaviors were not proactively addressed and resulted in having to pull our child out immediately! When bringing the concerns up to the school, the director never reached out. I eventually got contacted by the district director and her comments seemed to downplay the abuse. Saying things like this experience was good exposure for my child. That she wants to protect her TEENAGERS from everything but we just can’t do that as moms. It honestly felt like she was trying to say, this was a good learning experience for my son to be physically hurt everyday due to their lack of behavioral discipline.
We love Polaris! My youngest child attended Pre-K at Polaris Learning Center and had the best year ever! He's our third kiddo and we've had experience with a few different types of preschools. From my background I can wholeheartedly say that Polaris is a very special place. My son loved going to preschool every day! They are organized, communicate well with parents, and truly care about the kids who attend. The facilities are clean and well maintained, the kids get great access to the outdoors for fresh air and to stretch their legs, and the education is top notch. We are sad we only had one year at Polaris before graduating out!
