I have nothing but good things to say about the learning environment, the teachers, and the play-based learning at this school. Both my boys have really blossomed since they started going there.
Be sure to always do your research before you have your child go here. You just never know. We have a family friend who had a VERY SCARY situation happen to them.
Wonderful experience for all my children. I'd give it 10 stars if it was an option!
We absolutely love this preschool! The teachers are amazing, caring, and truly dedicated to the kids. Our daughter loves going here and has learned so much. We’re so grateful for such a wonderful, nurturing environment. Highly recommend!
Our family has been part of PVCC’s community for three years, and we absolutely love this school. Both of my children currently attend - my oldest started in the Tu/Th (2s & 3s) program and is now finishing her second year in the MWF (3s & 4s) class, and my youngest is in the Tu/Th class. The thing that we love most about PVCC is its emphasis on play-based learning. The kids learn through play and exploration, and the teachers often shape their classroom “investigations” around the interests of the students. This was a priority for us, as we didn’t want a program that was going to push academics unnecessarily, and it has been so fun to watch their learning unfold naturally through play. We also love that PVCC has a strong focus on nature. Unless the weather is dangerously cold, the kids are outside every day, rain or shine, and they take monthly walks down to the river. They are constantly exploring and learning about bugs, plants, weather, etc. The teachers also place a big emphasis on social skills, which has helped our kids learn how to interact with peers and function as part of a classroom community. Our oldest has gone from playing next to other kids, to navigating things like friendship, cooperative play, and sharing. It’s probably one of her areas of biggest growth since starting at PVCC, and we know that she will be more than ready to start Kindergarten in the fall. Most importantly, both of my children have absolutely thrived here and truly love going to school. The teachers, Miss Jen and Miss Molly, are exceptional. They are both kind, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable about early childhood development. As a parent co-op, PVCC has also created a welcoming community of families. We've met so many wonderful friends through volunteering and being involved at the school, and there are lots of community-building events throughout the year. We feel very lucky to be part of PVCC, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm preschool community.
