Playhouse Preschool Kindergarten

We loved and miss Playhouse Preschool. Our daughter was enrolled from 4 months until she was 4 and started TK, excluding COVID era. She loved it there, we were always informed and kept in the loop. Pre COVID we were able to go into the school for pickup and drop off, post covid I hear that never returned, but it is no different than her Elementary school. When we pick her up after school we have to wait at the gate for them to bring her out. Catalina had the best experience there and made friends that she is still friends with, even though they wound up going to different schools. Based on our experience there, we would definitely recommend.

Playhouse has been a great experience for our son. The teachers are caring, kind, and passionate in what they do. Our son has made incredible progress with language and social skills. We would definitely recommend Playhouse!

I am extremely grateful to the team at Playhouse for keeping our son fed, clean, and safe from 8 months to 1.5 years. However, I would not recommend this facility to a friend. We were given a tour before enrolling where the owner told us of their many policies regarding safety, health, and communication. I felt like our experience did not match what was advertised. First, I understand that safety should be the number one policy. However, this school does not allow any parents onto the school grounds at any time. When I arrived on my baby’s first day to pick him up, I was ushered off school grounds and not allowed to enter the building or classroom. We have never entered since and are always stopped at the gate. At our son’s new school, we are welcome in the classroom or on the school grounds at any time for pick up, drop off, or even to read a book to the class. I was not comfortable not being able to see my child in his classroom, interact with his classmates, or communicate with his teachers. Communication seriously lacks at this school. I have no idea what my child was doing all day. We had to ask every day for a communication sheet so that we could write to his teachers about how his night was, what he’d already eaten that day, or who was going to pick him up and when. Even then, we got very little information about what our child had experienced throughout the day. When we picked up, if we even saw one of his teachers, we’d ask how the day went and they would always say, “Good.” We rarely got any more information. There would constantly be miscommunications between the staff, and we had to repeat ourselves many times to many different people if we needed to tell them something important. The teachers seem very nice, and the owner seems to really care about the school. However, I am disappointed in the inconsistent school policies and lack of communication.
