What Parents Say
This YMCA facility receives consistently high ratings for its amenities, particularly the pool and weight room. Parents appreciate the clean environment, affordable pricing, friendly staff, and flexible membership options. Some members note concerns about limited free swim hours and Saturday closing times.
My review is only based on the weight room. The equipments are a little outdated but they’re still functional. The gym has what I need to do powerlifting. It has one two squat racks (one is per rack), deadlift platform, one regular bench, one incline bench, dumbbells and machines. I am just visiting the area for a month. like how they have option to sign up just for a month without any sign up fee. The front desk staff was very sweet. Plenty of parking in the morning and it does not get too busy.
My kid is in the child care program. He was playing drogon tail (most boring Game ever) he wanted to take a brake they SCREAMED at him to keep on playing. When You go there ,there is a list of things You are going to do . Of You are there You need to do it. And parents need to work so your kid is going to need to do it. The staff there are so rude.they trest My kid like trash they go swimming 3 times a week. The staff Made a things we're 2 of the days are swim PRACTESE and and the next day is free swim we're everybody come old people babys and just it sucks. The water is always cold to.there is also to much cloren in the pool.my kid hot in truble For yelling and they Made him sit in the pool For 30 minutes and it is cold. Do NOT recimend.
Honestly I loved going to this gym. I normally would give this a 5 star but the only thing that really turned me away from here was that there were only short periods of time for free swim . Like me and some other young adult individuals that work and have bills to pay cannot be there at 4 or 5 pm on a Wednesday to be able to swim for a hour.
Great facility , amazing gym . An the staff is on point 👉. Only thing is Saturday hours could be 6pm or even 7 pm I work all week so it's tuff them closing so early on a Saturday
Re-visiting the Dover-Foxcroft YMCA for my first time in years, I realized how small it is: the workout gym is tiny with old equipment that isn't all labeled properly, there's no hot tub, steamroom, nor sauna, and when the pool arobics class finishes, the pool simply closes for a couple hours instead of immediately being open for lapswim. There are raquetball courts but no indoor basketball court. The facilities need some improvements, but I'm glad that Dover has a YMCA, and I wish the place the best.
