Horrible experience. Staff recorded very little of how they cared for my 75 year old father. No certainty of if/when his needs were addressed, no response from the nursing staff when he needed help getting out of bed, and after a late night fall no X-rays were taken until we pleaded for them three days later. Food is not nutritious. On the weekend, the nursing staff literally said that the manager would be angry if she texted her to get information on my father’s care since it was the weekend. No manager seemed to be around on the weekend. Staff was busy eating in the lobby and getting chummy with each other around their push carts while I stood waiting to ask for help moving my father to the bathroom. When vitals were taken, the staff said he couldn’t check the oxygen level until his coworker was done using the device on someone else. Supplies very limited. After determining my father needed oxygen, it was finally administered 24 hours later. The list goes on. This place needs to be shut down or a serious angel with deep pockets.

Small rooms, very cold (65 degrees) in January, no availability. Double rooms with a thin sheet separating the two individuals in the room. $600/day for a single very small room. Assisted Living places love recommend this place. WHY? IDK!!!

Compassionate, Skilled, and Exceptional Care at The Pines of Sarasota For nearly two years, my husband was a resident at The Pines ( Skilled Nursing) and in that time, I witnessed firsthand the incredible care, professionalism, and kindness of the ENTIRE staff. Being there almost every day, I got to know them well, and I can truly say they are some of the most dedicated and compassionate caregivers I have ever met. They treated my husband with dignity, respect, and warmth, always going the extra mile to ensure his comfort and well-being. Their expertise was matched only by their kindness, providing not just excellent medical care but also genuine human connection. Losing a loved one is never easy, but knowing he spent his last years in such a caring and supportive environment brings me great comfort. I am deeply grateful to The Pines and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of skilled nursing care.💜💜

I was very disappointed. My father was scheduled to be moved to The Pines for subacute rehab. When I was contacted to answer some pre admission questions I inquired about him subsequently moving into long term care. The next question was private pay or Medicaid. I indicated Medicaid. The case worker at the hospital also indicated we were looking for long term care. A half an hour before he was to be transported to The Pines, the case worker at the hospital came in and said they were not taking him at all. Not even for the short term subacute rehab. I've called twice and left messages for someone to call and explain why they changed their minds at the last minute. I have yet to get a return call. Not even to acknowledge my question and say they would look into it. I wanted my father to be in a high quality rehab that had a home like feel and the photos showed this, but for some reason they changed their minds at the last minute. Without a response, I can only assume they are not interested in anyone who would like to utilize Medicaid.

After a brief waiting period, I had the opportunity to transfer my mother to The Pines Memory Care Facility from another institution, and the disparity in quality and care between the two establishments is remarkably profound. The professionalism and attentiveness of the staff at The Pines are commendable. They promptly respond to requests, demonstrating a high level of efficiency and dedication. It has been heartening to witness staff members across various roles exhibiting genuine compassion and care towards all residents. I am particularly grateful for the open communication maintained by the nursing staff and other caregivers. They proactively contact me with updates regarding any changes in my mother's behavior or well-being, ensuring I am fully informed and involved in her care. The administration has been incredibly accommodating, extending invitations to care planning meetings and willingly adjusting schedules to suit my availability, which has significantly enhanced the collaborative approach to my mother's care plan. Observing my mother transition from a state of confusion and discomfort to feeling settled and at home within her room has been profoundly reassuring. The cleanliness of her living space and the facility's communal areas is consistently impeccable, further reflecting the high standards upheld by The Pines. The previous facility where my mother resided temporarily pales in comparison to The Pines in every conceivable aspect. I am profoundly thankful for the opportunity to have my mother reside at The Pines, and I highly recommend this facility for their exceptional care, professionalism, and dedication to residents' well-being.
