Regarding the dettman location ! The whole staff is wonderful my twins started out in the infant/woddler room all the way up to toddler we’ve been with this day care for almost 2 years now and I wouldn’t want them anywhere else ! I trust each and every staff member with my children . My boys are excited every morning to return! They love there teachers with their whole heart and that makes my momma heart happy! Even on weekends they’ll ask to go to day care asking for staff BY NAME ! 10/10 definitely recommend
Deanna Rogers that works here makes fun of people just because they look different. She has made several comments making fun of a woman's physical features. I would not want anyone so hateful around my children.
This is regarding the Kibby Road facility. As of April 2025, there is an active investigation regarding the facility, as well as the treatment of staff and children at the facility. When my child began in the infant room, we loved it. I would have rated it 5 stars back then. Over time, my wife and I noticed a high turnover rate in employees, including the people we were trusting to care for our child. When new employees were brought in, we began to see and experience behavioral issues with our child. The issues expanded to health issues, including rashes from improper cleaning and treatment of our infant child, delayed diaper changes, inaccurate reporting. We would file a complaint and the issues would minimize for a while. Our child would get used to the new room attendant (I cannot say teacher because most of them are not licensed and are not teachers), only for them to leave and a new room attendant take their place. Then the cycle would start over with behavioral and health issues. Our child began to make friends as she started developing, and had some favorite employees who did stick it out for longer than average, but I hesitate to say that anyone except the director is the same as when we started there. Turnover is a serious issue. Most of the staff seems to only make it months before quitting. Communication is poor and incidences are covered up and hidden whenever possible by staff and not reported to the parents. We had no record of most incidences that took place and only knew about them happening because of word of mouth from certain staff members. The facility is understaffed, even for what is required by licensing. Staff are not given adequate breaks. The app is not controlled by anyone on site who is able to accurately report the goingson of the children they care for. My child had days where she would wake up and cry that she did not want to go to school and was afraid to go to school. No child should feel like that at 3 years old. There were very few staff members who were there to be advocates for children and children's education. I know that there are people who have had a wonderful experience with this facility. I am not one. My child is not one. I know others who had worse experiences than we did. We felt unheard, ignored, and in some cases, punished for advocating for our child and her wellbeing. I do not recommend this facility at all.
My daughter is currently in their GSRP and my youngest in the daycare. We absolutely love it. My kids always look forward to going, they love all the teachers and just overall recommend them!
Phoenix Early Learning Center on Kibby Rd. in Jackson, MI is a wonderful place for your children to learn and grow. My nephew has been going there since 3 mo. old and he has developed wonderful social and academic skills. He is now 3 yrs old and can count to 20 and say his ABC's. He has made a many new friends and looks forward to being at school every day. The teachers are companionate, nurturing and they genuinely care about these children.
