What Parents Say
P.F.V.Y. Christian Street is highly regarded as a community resource offering gym facilities, swim lessons, and childcare services. Parents consistently praise the clean facilities, friendly and supportive staff, and variety of activities available for all ages. The facility serves as a comprehensive community center rather than just a daycare.
Adequate equipment eventhough the space is small. Pool hours are weird for family swim, facilities are fairly clean. Parking can be tricky at times. Always room for improvement. I overall like this Y.
Showers broke toilets clogged no toilet paper no paper towels locker room no air flow shower curtains don't extend to cover shower area But the staff there are friendly comuntcatve and helpful respectful always say hello well it's been 4 weeks since my review lets see how the Christian St YMCA did? see pictures of toilets Still have the same shower curtains too This is how they address issues
I’ve been going here on and off for about two years now all I can say is I feel like I’m bonding with the elderly who participate in the workout and dance classes I am so inspired by their dedication and endurance The instructors are amazing and very supportive. I love going to the pool. My only suggestion is they open up two lanes instead of one when it’s family swim because it’s usually not enough room and that the registration process for summer camp and after school be a little more responsive because I’ve been trying to get my son into the program for a long time. His school is nearby and it makes no sense that I got the runaround and I’m a member of this gym. We should’ve gotten priority for a spot.
It's really small, and there's only street parking. Some of the equipment like small dumbbells and mats are peeling. Also the mats are really thin, and are not conducive to a comfortable floor workout. The staff members are really nice though.
Majority of children activities are all set forth and scheduled. So one need to be prepared to follow their schedule in order to part take in most children activities. This mainly includes but does not disclose GYM. For the children's physical activities which varies different age groups and schools I would assume. I always thought schools had their own GYM activities at their own location? Not sure, why they hosting entire after school programs there at the Y? Much has changed since I came up. I guess if you can meet their schedule and pay extra for some activities, you can make it work for you and your family. The experience was an enlighten one, on the down side. Children were expecting a nice swim. So disappointed they both became, no pool nor GYM for that day. Their first time interacting. They do have some out going staff there especially in the children's day care center. Takes time to get used to it and aline your schedule around theirs or pay to fit in. It's like this one pink rose my four year old Granddaughter nursed to life again. It had to adjust and fit in once it was given the proper nourishment and location. I simply thought it was time to dispense it? Move on, but my Granddaughter decided to deal with it keep going at it. After playing with it for two or three days. Moral of this story, give yourself some time. To adjust to their schedule and grow as you go alongside of other's. This way you can adjust as your family are being nurtured into different activities. Shalom.......
