Unfortunately I would not recommend this child care to families. Their infant care room especially is lacking the care babies deserve. The program does not feed the babies their bottles by hand (which goes against Ohios standards) they prop the bottle up with blankets for even the youngest infants in the room. This denies the children that vital human and care takers connection that they need for their emotional health. I had picked my daughter up from there many times with her clothes soaked because she could not feed herself her bottle the way they were making her. They also permit the babies to scream and scream. I’ve seen babies in there crying and the staff is simply doing nothing. Young babies need to be tending too, comforted, held, etc… these seem like basic things an infant care program would do, however there was little to done of it! It made me feel lied to when I was promised outstanding care by the director when I enrolled my daughter here. When I had approached Miss Rhonda about some concerns I had she rolled her eyes at me and walked away from me when I tried to speak to her. It was extremely unprofessional and showed me that they were unwilling work with me as a mother to find a plan that would work best for my child. There are many teachers such as Miss Janell in the preschool one room who are incredible teachers and run their classrooms very well, however I have found some teachers to be extremely unprofessional and that disappointed me. There were many conversations that the toddler room teachers, for example would have throughout the school day that were simply inappropriate to be talked about in front of children, including high school parties, personal healthcare, cussing, etc… very unprofessional and there seemed to be little to no consequence for the action showing that what your children are exposed to hearing from their teachers at parkside is not a major concern of theirs. I am aware of all these things because I was employed as a part time teacher while my daughter was in the infant room. I quit because of these reasons. Many parents have not seen what I have seen happen at parkside. If they have seen the way some of the staff has treated their children I guarantee my daughter would not be the only family that has chosen to stop attending parkside.
