Do Not Enroll Here I’ve gone back and forth about writing this review. My child has been unenrolled for months now, but this experience has continued to bother me. I’m not writing this out of anger, I’m writing it for my child and to warn other parents. The staff at this school are cold, unwelcoming, and negative, and it shows in how they treat both children and parents. The environment felt forced rather than caring. I expected compassion and understanding, but over time I realized the way children are “disciplined” here caused real emotional harm to my son. My son became traumatized by this school. He avoids talking about it, and when he does, I have to catch him off guard because he clearly doesn’t want to relive what he experienced. He cried every morning, constantly told us how much he hated going, and never felt supported or successful in that environment. There was one specific staff member who was consistently hostile and unprofessional toward us during pickup. One day, when my husband and I were there to pick up our son, he excitedly ran toward us. Instead of greeting us or communicating calmly, this staff member became visibly angry and panicked, assuming he was “running off,” even though we were clearly right there. No hello, no acknowledgment just fear and anger projected onto us. We left confused and uncomfortable. This was not an isolated incident. I also had my toddler on their waitlist for over six months. They took the waitlist fee, but communication was extremely poor. The only time I ever received updates was when I called or followed up myself, and even then, I was given the same vague answers every time with no real information or progress. If I didn’t reach out first, there was no communication at all. What truly crossed the line was how they handled removing our son from the program. We were given only three days’ notice, through a note, instead of a professional conversation or even a standard two-week notice. This was completely inappropriate and inconsiderate to both the child and the family. After leaving, everything changed. At his new school, my son is happier, listens better, and loves going to school. That alone confirmed the issue was not my child, it was the environment. Since then, I’ve also heard from friends who previously enrolled their children here and later left for the same reason: they felt the staff were cold, forced, and lacking warmth. Listen to your child. And honestly do not enroll here.

My two daughters attend Palmetto Preschool at Market Common, ages 2 and almost 4. We have been attending there since my youngest was about 13 months old. We absolutely love this school and the entire staff! We were at a previous daycare prior and did not have the best experience. At Palmetto my husband and I both feel confident that our girls are well taken care of and in the best of hands! Their teachers genuinely care about their students and make sure they’re comfortable and happy while at school. We are so thankful we found Palmetto!

Our experience with Palmetto Preschool in Market Common has been absolutely incredible! From the moment I enrolled my daughter, I’ve seen nothing but growth, excitement, and joy in her educational journey. I’m so grateful for all the front office staff who are so welcoming and also all the teachers, past and present. Ms. Colleen and Ms. Allison are kind hearted amazing teachers. Without a doubt this has to be one of the best schools in Horry County for your little ones.

We love palmetto preschool! So clean, classroom learning, so many activities and friendly staff. Ms Roberta has been incredible with my two older kids getting them ready for kindergarten. We adore Ms Colleen and Ms Allison, they truly care for our kids. Ms Gabby and Ms Diane are always so thoughtful and loving and my little one loves going into class.

I’ve had full confidence in the care provided since my child entered at 6 months old. Mason loves Ms. Caitlin in the infant room and they had the best little bond that would make any mama happy. He recently moved up to the next class and he is adjusting well to the new changes and teachers! We love the teachers and continue to recommend Palmetto to our friends and coworkers.
