What Parents Say
Open Arms Lutheran Child Development Center in Alpharetta receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with parents praising the caring staff, clean facilities, and supportive environment. However, one parent reported a negative experience regarding inadequate accommodation of their child's special needs and poor communication from the director.
Both of my children attended Open Arms. My son is on the autism scale and they were very supportive of his needs. When the school system dropped him off at the wrong daycare on the first day of school Open Arms not only let me know he did not arrive as he should have they called around the area and found him and picked him up. They love all the children in their care. I was very happy with my children's care while they were there.
I love this school at The first second when I stepped in. The environment is nice and clean, the playground is huge, the staff and teachers are nice and caring, and the tuition is competitive. My daughter used to have severe separation issue and had been to two schools before we went to open arms, but she just cried for 3 days in this school and she was fine and love this school now. Everyday I enjoy she shareing her school life with me and feel her progress. Miss Alba is so kind and caring. I am so grateful I can meet her and enroll in this lovely school.
Open Arms is truly the best daycare for so many reasons! The workers truly LOVE on your child, they have excellent protocols, detailed and caring administrative staff, VERY CLEAN, and their hours are the best. I reviewed and toured many daycares, and I immediately felt the difference at Open Arms. I felt like I was like our baby girl with family, rather than an outside caretaker. They are the best kept secret in Alpharetta, and I few extremely blessed to be so close to this facility. Ms. Eugenia, Maria, Betty, Adriana, Laura, Melody, and Ms. Barbara are all SO kind, thorough, and wonderful. I love this daycare so much, and can’t imagine our baby being elsewhere.
If your child has a special need please don't bother to take them here. The Director didn't even look my son's paperwork to even know he had special needs, even with me telling her. This is supposed to be a safe place to bring your kids because it's in a church, but unfortunately it's still wasn't the best choice. The director waited to things got worse with my son instead of calling me so I could talk to my son before things got out of hand. The director called me stating - Your son can't come here anymore. All because she didn't look in his paperwork to see how to help him. He has a special need and she knew that before he even came to the daycare because she wrote it on sticky note how much I would pay instead of worrying about what he's diagnosis. My son was only there for a week she didn't even give him a chance. Please again if your child has a special need this is NOT the daycare to bring your child(ren)too! It's very sad because the daycare is in a church you would think the staff would have a heart. God Bless each and everyone that works in Open Arms. Also, I asked the director for the owners number, she didn't even give me the number. I hope the ower is reading these reviews.
I had a bad experience at a Montessori school so decided to move my 2 year old daughter to Open Arms after many recommendations! I loved it, she loves it as adapted so well... my daughter is speech delay and both teachers she had were patient and kind and she evolved so much... Really happy
