Do not enroll in this center if you are a military family using Child Care Aware. Once Upon a Childcare attempted to steal nearly $1600 from our military family by refusing to return our Child Care Aware reimbursement for military subsidies paid following our disenrollment. This is the 6th child care center in Colorado and Virginia we've enrolled our children in and the only center that has not written our family a check for the overpayments submitted by CCA after we've prepaid in full for care. The infant providers were very sweet and had great communication, so I feel terrible leaving this review for them, but the leadership team at OUAC is unprofessional, unethical, and lacks integrity and I would hate for more military families to potentially lose this amount of money. For current military families concerned about their subsidy reimbursement, I recommend reaching out to Operation Child Care as far in advance of your disenrollment as possible for next steps and ideas to get the CCA subsidy reimbursement your family deserves. Edit following OUAC response: Please know OUAC is not being truthful and military families are absolutely entitled to reimbursement from childcare centers when paying upfront and in full for care that is subsidized by CCA. CCA payments are always made after care is provided so there will always be an overpayment to the provider and ethical providers return these overpayments to the families. OUAC's unethical policy was NOT discussed prior to enrollment and both the program lead for the DOD Army Fee Assistance program and founder of Operation Child Care were appalled by this practice. Military families please be clear, this is NOT normal for child care providers to do and you should not enroll with providers that try to convince you otherwise!

We love Once Upon a Childcare! My son has been going there for the last two years and always has the best time at daycare. They have several outdoor playgrounds that the kids love. They provide breakfast, lunch and a snack. They worked with us when my son was a late walker and again when he needed foot braces. Everyone there is very patient and kind. We couldn’t ask for a better daycare.

Once upon a childcare has been a great fit for my family. My daughters have been going there for years. They are always talking about how much they like their teachers, and how much fun they had throughout the day. Seeing how comfortable my kids are around the staff makes the days away from them go by with more ease, as I know they are always in good hands. The facility itself is well maintained, and the staff does a great job at keeping it clean. All in all, my kids have been happy there and I would highly recommend this daycare.

My girls have been attending this facility since they were babies. I remember the first day I dropped my eldest off, I cried. But the staff has been nothing short of amazing. Everyone has always been so sweet. My daughters have absolutely loved being there. They have bonded with everyone of their teachers, and I can truly say that with the curriculum that is taught, my kids are thriving. Now my eldest is in preschool, but the staff at OUAC is still always asking how she’s doing. It’s so nice to see that she is not forgotten. Finding childcare-let alone good childcare, is no easy task, but I feel incredibly blessed that I found this place and that my kids have been lucky enough to be part of the OUAC family. I appreciate the entire team and all that you do to help our children find their own way. ❤️

I can’t speak highly enough about the staff at OUAC. My wife and I were very apprehensive about changing daycares and leaving our daughter in the care of all new people at first. Within a week, she was walking herself through the door, excited to see all of her friends, without even looking back to say goodbye. She is in a great mood at pickup and seems to bring home new words and sign language every day. The staff communicates very well throughout the day and provides great pictures of each days activities too, which goes a long way for an anxious mother. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
