One of my most favourite places! My childhood church family! The pastors are amazing! Filled with faithful, open and affirming, family friendly, progressive folks who care deeply about each other and the community. Old South Union has a great youth group program! A beautiful and welcoming church community !
I can't say enough about the people who dedicate their time and hearts💖to this community ministry and outreach. They are truly committed and honestly lovely. This isn't my home church, but I occasionally go to the food pantry on Saturday mornings between 9 and 11am. The It is a busy place so, I suggest getting there on time to obtain a parking space in the lot next to the church. Handicapped parking is available as well as street parking, which is limited. If you need a Holiday Turkey, this is the place to go. The volunteers are top notch! They serve a delicious hot breakfast for the hungry with seating and socialization. They offer coffee, pastries, bagels(it varies) but, there is always something to nibble on while you wait. There will be a wait so be prepared to sit and chat with others(if you choose to). They are child friendly so, you don't have to worry about a babysitter but, you must be watchful because it gets crowded. Most volunteers are part of the retired community but you would never know it. They are relentless helpers! Some are students accompanied by their mother's. What an excellent example to the people of Weymouth. They also have a clothing ministry. You can look through pre-owned clothed, shoes, books and toys for free! They give out number cards to keep everything organized. They even have an elevator in the building and volunteers who help load your bags onto carts and bring them to your car! And, last but not least,,,they offer a limited amount of Uber services for those who don't have a ride home! Extraordinary care from extraordinary people! The pastor has dropped by on several occasions and seems very sincere. I can't say enough about the volunteers and staff! Lastly, the food is great! They offer canned goods as well as fresh fruits and veggies, meats, eggs, cheese,, and pastries(when available). So, go check out this place when your cupboards are bare. I appreciate the food, people and kindness I find here. They have been a blessing 🙏.
Best church I ever went to...I grew up Catholic, but now my parents go here and I went to youth group here. I got taught about love there, not judgement or politics. They don't teach 2 lines from the Bible; they carry Jesus' message.
Awesome experience very friendly people
The church and the congregants are great. The amount of outreach to the community whether it be through the pop up pantry, the garden, the youth group or other services is excellent.
