I visited the old Stonewalled Cemetery and was appalled, disgusted, and very angry. No one has even attempted to mow or weed eat ( an old riding mower was hidden behind a large bushy tree!) This Cemetery can NOT be ride mowen. I cleaned up 2 stones,cut the thick weed like grass around them with scissors, getting angrier with each cut that the Cemetery is being neglected, ignored,and completely disrespected! And the grass is not just ordinary grass that you can pull up by hand- oh no! Its thick,weedy,field grass. Not to mention the number of stones that's broken, lying on the ground so long the earth is claiming them,the broken stones piled in a corner, the stones and even a crypt being taken over by trees! If I owned a weed eater,I'd been there until the entire Cemetery was respectable looking again. And while I was there, cleaning the small church bathrooms voluntarily, a man in a small truck drove across the field to the Cemetery, and I was thinking perhaps he was gonna do something beneficial to it because he was the Cemetery keeper ( I thought but don't know- he drove across the field so hes associated with the Cemetery somehow and Church too I suspect) But he did absolutely nothing...Didn't even question what I was doing with the church bathroom trash.( but I did tell him regardless. Not even a Thank you) I plan to speak to someone within the church about this because there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for such a level of disrespect for this, or any other Cemetery that has an able bodied congregation and surrounding community!!! EDIT:I POSTED THIS ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO,2023. I DID NOT VISIT NOR POST THIS IN JULY OF 2025! I DID SPEAK WITH THE PASTOR AND WAS TOLD THE CEMETERY WAS BEING ADDRESSED BY THE CHURCH ELDERS. I DO NOT KNOW IF IT WAS OR WHAT IF ANYTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO THE CEMETERY SINCE 2023. I WILL MAKE A POINT OF VISITING SOON TO FIND OUT. R. MILLER

I spent a lot of time attending this church as a teenager with my brother and Dad during the seventies. I occasionally will come back to attend church when we have a Harris or Moore reunion, althought I don't always agree with some of what the church believes in. A lot of my family history is tied up with this church
We had our family reunion in the Stone Building. The facilities are wonderful. Stephanie at Old Providence Church was so great to work with in making our arrangements. Thank you!
