Old Hill Children'S Day School

My two children have been attending Old Hill Day School – Westport, CT for two years. My youngest entered at 1 and my son at 3 years old. My youngest has transited through all the classrooms. Old Hill is a wonderful school with a unique home like atmosphere. The director Cheryl is a leader able to attract amazing teaches. The team there is caring and creative. The teachers across the class rooms know all the children’s names and interests, all taking an active role to ensure the kids comfort. My wife and I are two busy professionals, our minds are at ease that they attend Old Hill.

Our son attended Old Hill as a baby. The teachers were all great and really helpful when we dropped him off and picked him up every day. They always shared details about his time there, gave us a record of when and how much he ate and slept, what activities he did, etc. As a first time mom, my wife was anxious about leaving him in a program but that change quickly once we start with Old Hill -- we both became so comfortable that we forgot how stressed she had been. The classroom was always clean and organized and whenever we walked in the teachers were engaged with the kids (who were generally always happy). If we hadn't relocated, we would definitely still be at Old Hill. We certainly recommend this program to other parents.

Old Hill Children's Day School is a great private preschool/daycare center. As a childcare professional in Massachusetts, I helped my daughter evaluate programs for her baby when she was moving to Connecticut. We were so impressed with Old Hill's environment, teachers and curriculum. This school has a wonderful, developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants through preschoolers, a number of fun and educational enrichment programs and fully equipped classrooms - all in a comfortable, homey facility. Another aspect of this center that stood out to us is how happy the children always seem throughout the entire school. As a new grandmother and childcare professional myself, I definitely recommend Old Hill for families in the Westport area. There are a couple of other good childcare centers in town but Old Hill has something special about it -- be sure to put it on your list when you are looking for programs. (Old Hill also had the most flexible scheduling options of all the schools we looked at too!).

Old Hill is a wonderful preschool and childcare center in Westport. My husband and I looked at many in the local area and none provided the small nurturing environment that we wanted quite like Old Hill did. Both of our boys have gone here and we could not have been happier. All of the staff has been there for many years and are extremely nurturing. I can not say enough how wonderful and caring they were with our sons. Their philosophy of active play, a lot of it outside, as well as many multi-sensory tasks and projects always kept our boys engaged and happy. They also offer so many extra fun programs such as music class, language, Fun Bus, animal embassy, field trips into the community, the list goes on and on. They give a ton of flexibility with hours and days which was also extremely helpful. I knew on my first tour that this was the absolute right place for our family and I promise you will feel that too!

We have been a part of the OHCDS family for 4 years and have loved every minute of it! Our oldest graduated from their preschool program in 2016 and has been thriving in elementary school (now in 1st grade). Our youngest is set to graduate after this school year, and even though he will graduate at 4 years old (October birthday) he is more than ready NOW for Kindergarten and it is just December. The staff is nurturing and understand how children learn best. We are thrilled we chose OHCDS for our boys and would recommend it to anyone looking for great childcare with fantastic hours - especially for a working family as they do an entire full day summer program!
