Our daughter attended OFS for 2 years for their Pre-K and DK program. To say that she loved her time at OFS is an understatement. Even now in Kindergarten, she talks about her teachers and the friends she has made - this is a testament to all the love and care all the teachers with the guidance of the director, Alex, make towards making OFS the warm, tight-knit community it is. The staff partnered with us to help our daughter’s growth and development. They are thoughtful, communicative and incredibly caring. We highly recommend!
We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Old Firehouse School. The teachers are exceptional—skilled, nurturing , and genuinely attentive to each child. Our kids are now in Kindergarten and 1st grade, and we continue to see the positive impact of the strong academic and social-emotional foundation they built at OFS. We switched preschools in search of a better fit and could not be happier with our choice! We especially appreciated how teachers use research-backed approaches in their classrooms. They understand developmental psychology and spend time on continuous training as a team. The staff partnered with us, communicating thoughtfully and supporting our children’s growth every step of the way. Alex, the Director, is quite simply one of the most skilled early childhood educators I have encountered in Lamorinda. Can’t say enough great things!
We have sent two children to Old Firehouse in Lafayette, starting in 2021. When we were still in the throws of Covid with a young child and no other support, OFS was a critical partner in raising our daughter. I would trust director Alex with anything related to my kids. It is a warm, welcoming, caring place and their model of having a primary caregiver throughout a child's time at the school has been amazing. Cannot recommend this place enough.
