Odessa Candyland Academy

This is my 2 yr old son's first day care, it was tough at first but he loves it now! He loves his teachers specially Cassandra. She always smiled big and cared for him even when she wasn't his teacher... My son has speech problems and he started speaking more words since he started interacting with other kids there. They potty trained him for the most part and they made it a lot easier for me to keep it going at home. I have a 2 year old that barely speaks yet he his potty trained! I love their patience with my son. I also have a 7 yr old that attends when there's no school and he tells me EVERYTHING. All good things about the teachers. Unfortunately, my kids have to attend another daycare due to us moving to the other side of town but Candyland Academy has been overall an awesome experience.

My lil guy has been going to OCA for almost a month now & they are a wonderful daycare. The owner is very nice & his teachers are amazing with him. They have the little ones do cute projects that I love seeing every Friday when we get to take the projects home. Definitely recommend this daycare!

Every single day I picked up my child he was sitting in a dark classroom or napping. Let it be know I picked my child up at different times everyday to see what he was doing at that time of day and it was always the same. Never playing. They don't have toys in the classroom and very little toys in the play room. He also had a different teacher everyday and one day ended up with a totally different class. The owner is sweet and when she gave me a tour it looked amazing. But don't be fooled the teachers suck and it's not run right. I also never got an update on how my child who had never been to daycare before was settling in.

I would not trust this place! Had my 3 year old daughter there for just a couple of weeks. My daughter has always went to daycare and has always enjoyed it. When we started here though my daughter would cry and cling to me everyday when I dropped her off. I knew something was wrong! My daughter also talks very very well for age therefore is able to communicate things that are wrong. She told me a couple of days in a row that kids were jumping on her?!?!? I called to speak to the director and was told that she would figure out what was going on.... Never heard anything back! Guess they weren't as concerned as I was..... Also every morning and afternoon id drop and pick off the director was never in the office! So I decided to talk to her teacher about it and in the middle of our conversation she seriously just ignored what I was saying and turned to another parent that had walked in and began a conversation!!!! I guess no one was as concerned as I was... So as I was standing there, I observed a boy being very aggressive with a child much smaller than him.... Taking a pillow and repeatedly raring back and hitting the child over And over again in the face. The teacher looked at the situation and didn't say a word!!!! I had to tell that child to stop because no one else did!!!! So I gues they think bullying is acceptable. My child came home everyday starving as well.... I would ask her what she ate and she never had an answer. there was absolutely no communication in this place.... I could never get a straight honest answer as to what was going on with my child during the days. All I know is that my daughter was very uncomfortable. So glad that we have found a new place for her that she is loving and learning everyday!!!! Odessa candy land academy should take the sign off of their door that says"learning academy" because i can't tell you one educational thing that was provided to my daughter. All I ever saw was watching tv and coloring random pages they he printed off.

I had my 24 month old baby there for a month and during that month he had several incident reports filed along with other incidents that were not recorded because the teachers didn't even bother to report that to me until I said something to them. Also my baby would come home every single day starving where he was not fed, I talked to the owner and teachers about it but nothing was changed. I would not trust this daycare at all.
