Due to the weather, we decided to walk inside the gym. We entered the facility and went directly to the elevator. As the door was closing, an employee blocked the door and demanded we show our membership card. We did not have it. Explained to the employee that we have lived in Oconee County for 36 years and have been members for 20 years. The employee continued to block the elevator door and directed us to the front desk for membership. We decided to exit the building. When the weather improves, we will continue to use the great walking paths outside, unless we need to show our membership card.
This park has a lot going on. If you follow the road all the way back, there is a dog park. The playground is fun for kids. There are picnic areas and plenty of space to run, bike and explore. There are sports facilities for tennis, baseball and soccer. I'll be back to explore more.
My friend and I found this to be a perfect place to go walking. Not too hilly and not too flat. It's very open and felt safe. Love how it allowed for plenty sun exposure. We will definitely be back and bring our dogs next time. Good convenient parking and grounds very well kept.
Great park and facilities. Andy and the staff at Oconee Veterans Community Center are first rate and Maggie is super helpful over at Herman Michael. Folks in this community are really lucky to have an amazing collection of parks and recreation options. Thank you all for your efforts!
