What Parents Say
Ocean Early Childhood Center in Brick, NJ receives mostly positive feedback, with parents praising the attentive staff, developmental activities, and strong communication systems. However, some parents report concerns about inadequate supervision regarding sun safety and outdoor conditions, as well as inconsistent discipline practices.
We had a baby in 2023 and looked at Ocean Early at the suggestion of our neighbor. We couldn’t be more happy with the care she gets there. The teachers in her room are attentive, loving, and rockstars at their jobs. They made us feel welcomed and at ease especially when we were starting there as new parents. We love that they do various developmental activities - tummy time, reading, sensory exploring, outdoor time, bubbles, and so much more. Every day during drop off or pick up I’ve seen them be actively engaged with the babies. They’re flexible depending on your own preferences in terms of bottle preferences, nap timing, and more. The online/app system they use for communication is easy to use, and we appreciate the updates for naps, bottles, meals, daily needs, and the fun photos. So glad we found them!
My friends daughter was there today nobody helped the little girl put sun screen on today when it's 85 and no cloud in the sky. She got burnt. My friend picked her daughter up n she was crying that nobody would help her. I would give 0 stars but I can't how do you not make sure all the kids have sunscreen on when you run a summer camp. Besides making sure kids drink water n staying hydrated number 2 is making sure little kids don't get burnt.
Our family absolutely loves OECC/Shore Summer camp. I was first recommended to them in 2019 while looking for a summer camp. This year my four year old started their pre-k program while my older kids still go each year to the camp (and my four year old will this summer, too!). When looking for a school for my little one, communication and updates are so important to me. Each day I get pictures and videos and written updates about the whole day, which makes it so easy to engage with her when she gets home about all of the things she did! She loves her friends and teachers and looks forward to going to school each day. They have an amazing playground and make sure the children get adequate outside time. My daughter always has projects she is bringing home and seems to be learning so much. During the summer, the staff and Lori have so many fun and creative activities for the kids to participate in. They are engaged all day and always have a blast! The counselors are all great and sweet, and I feel very confident each day that my kids are in a safe environment. I cannot say enough good about this center, I am so happy we found them a few years ago!
My daughter was in this program last year and I will never put her back in there ever again. They would punish her for things that other kids were saying and then she would be blamed and punished for 5 mins at a time by keeping her away from the other kids. They also would not allow her to bring microwaveable containers and would place her cold food in a coffee cup provided by them and she had to eat it cold. Not to mention that there is barely any shade outside the building and they had the kids out there in the sweltering heat for hours.
The best summer camp ever not only do they have an Olympic size pool the kids get to enjoy the pool three times a day every day there is a different activity every Wednesday there is a trip pizza day Christmas in July Halloween ECT definitely excited every year’s come. If I could read it more than a five star, I totally would.
