My first visit to Oakton UMC and I just knew I was home. The staff are very welcoming and make you feel like family, without being overbearing. The building itself has such historic charm and had been part of the community for years. But, arguably one of the best parts of Oakton UMC is the way the church lives out the mission of Christians to serve and love thy neighbors. Cannot recommend enough.
A Warm, Welcoming Church with an Inspiring Pastor We recently started attending Oakton UMC with my 83 year old mother. We have been so blessed by the experience. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and kindness by both the congregation and the church leaders. The atmosphere is welcoming, and it feels like a true family in faith. The pastor, Ashley Allen, is truly gifted in both teaching and caring for the congregation. She is very attentive to the congregations needs. Every sermon is insightful, grounded in scripture, and filled with practical wisdom that applies to daily life. What we appreciate most is Ashley’s genuine heart for people. It is clear that she not only loves God but also loves the community deeply. If you’re looking for a church that is rooted in love, kindness, and spiritual growth, I highly recommend visiting Oakton UMC. It has already become a place where we feel connected, spiritually nurtured, and encouraged.
There is so much good history in this church. Pastor Ashley is warm, welcoming and caring. Her sermons are in line with the teachings of Christ on love, morality and forgiveness. The members are friendly and engaging. Many here have been members for many years. The energy is very positive. Sunday service is also available virtually.
OUMC deserves the reputation it has of “the friendly church on the corner.” After visiting several area churches we attended Oakton UMC and have done so ever since the mid-90’s. Pastor Ashley’s sermons are Bible based and always give something to carry you through the week. She’s an amazing leader and has inspired all ages to participate in the church services and many programs she has helped to develop at OUMC.
