What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise OAKS Children's Center for providing a loving, nurturing environment where children thrive emotionally and academically. The center is known for caring and patient staff, strong leadership, enriching activities including music and chapel, and excellent preparation for kindergarten. Multiple families report their children eagerly attend and show significant growth and confidence.
My wife and I had two boys go through the Oaks Children's Center, and I cannot say enough good things about them. When our private daycare fell through 3 years ago, we had to quickly find another daycare that would take both boys (3 and 1 at the time). We found a well-reviewed center on the east side of town which we took them to for about 3 months. My 3 year old has always loved school, but my 1 year old would cry every single day I took him out of the car. I thought he'd get used to it, but he never did. The following summer, we enrolled them at the Oaks. After the first day, my 1-year old was beaming. He said "Dad, today WAS SO FUN." He never had issues going to school after that. Since then, both of my boys have gone through the Oaks program with a variety of teachers, and my youngest just graduated in preparation for TK next year. The Oaks is a place that is filled with so much love. The teachers work so well with the students, and make them feel cared for and valued. On top of that, Pastor Lori does chapel with them weekly, and they have music class as well. Ms. Jyn, the director, is amazing. She greeted our sons by their names each day with a smile, and is a great communicator who is very involved with the classes and making sure everything is running smoothly. My wife and I feel so blessed that we found the Oaks--it was the perfect fit for our us. We knew that while we were at work, our boys were being prepared for school, partipating in fun activities, and were being taught with patience and kindness. While our boys have both graduated, we'll always be grateful to the Oaks for the wonderful care they provide our community.
My daughter LOVES going to The Oaks Children's Center, she loves her teachers, the other kiddos, the many fun activities that help her learn and grow every day. Its top notch, the best preschool!
We love the Oaks, my daughter has been thriving under their care since she was 2 years old. My daughter is now 4 years old and continues to receive loving and supporting care from all the teachers and staff. I highly recommend the Oaks!
My son went to this preschool after getting expelled from another for anger issues following my divorce. Lori P. gave my son a chance and didn't give up on him. The staff worked with my son and I believe it helped him greatly. The staff communicated well with me and I had an opportunity to take a parenting class offered by the church to help me positively understand and raise my family. The staff is caring, kind and patient, everything you want in a facility watching your children. The facility is organized and clean offering a solid curriculum and religious teaching that help prepare your child for school and life. If your child will be attending Old River Elementary there's a trip to visit Kindergarten their last year, as many of the children will attend that school. The children will know what to expect for kindergarten, meet the teachers and have friends going in, which in my opinion helps with the anxiety on the first day of Kinder( for both child and parent)! My son often asks to go back to see the staff as the OCC became a positive memory for him, luckily we get to see some of the staff on Sundays. I will be bringing my daughter in to start her preschool career!
I have had three children go to OCC (so far!). My kids love it there and love the staff! They basically were the reason I made it through the pandemic, as well, because without their school age program, I would have had to teach my students and monitor my daughter's online schooling at the same time. My own students would have suffered.
