What Parents Say
Oak Street Child Development Center has a divided reputation with highly positive reviews praising the learning program, staff warmth, and value, but serious safety and management concerns raised by multiple parents regarding high teacher turnover, inadequate staffing ratios, insufficient supervision of infants, and alleged inappropriate handling of children.
If I can put negative stars I would ! My child has been going to all aboard children's center since she was an infant and I absolutely loved everything about it but now that it's under new management known as oak street it is terrible ! Every morning when I drop my daughter off there is someone new watching her. At this point I have no idea who the teachers are because of the turn over rate ! It seems like the teachers are quitting left and right which tells me it has something to do with management. This place seems so chaotic ! There is not enough teachers and the teachers that are there do not seem interested in the safety or the care of the children at all . I have caught Ms. Judy being very aggressive towards the children and doesn't pay to much attention! Every time my husband has picked up my daughter and asked how her day went she is more conserned about telling him her own medical issues or which child in the class is the worst instead of sharing how she eat ( my daughter is a picky eater) all while she is chatting the children are beat each other up. This place is not safe and seems very illegal.
This place did not have enough people in the infant center only one person was watching about 9 infants. One day when I picked my 3 month old son up a blanket was over his face and another child was poking his face and the woman didn't notice because she was too busy. Also he was part time and they released him without any notice and did not tell me thwy had replaced him with someone full time. I also saw a lady grabbing an older boy by his wrist and dragging him because he wouldn't listen until he cried and another woman went over in front of me and told her she cannot do that. A respectable business would give a notice before just dismissing your child or at least let you know before you came to drop them off.
Very disappointed, I trused them with my kids and my son came home with finger print bruse with bleeding nail marks from a teacher. I had to pull all my kids and now I've lost my job because I don't have child care, even worse they kept the teacher who did it. A few of the teachers are good but be careful a few of the teachers there are not good with kids and will hurt your children.
Our daughter has been here since she was one, now 2 1/2. This place is a well run learning center. Our daughter enjoys it, too. And it's partially funded by JeffCo, You can't beat the learning to cost ratio in my book, as well.
Thankyou Angela and your wonderful Team of caring teachers for making my granddaughters first year at daycare amazing. I love your care and education program. Miss Vivian, Miss Zena and Miss DeeAnn thank you personally for all you do with Azlynn she loves you !
