We moved here from out of state almost 3 years ago and I feel so fortunate and grateful to have found NWELS. Any time I would see a new parent touring the school, I couldn’t help but tell them that out of the 3 or so other daycares my children have attended, this is has by far been the best. My son’s behavior alone took a 180 in his time here (in the good way!). His teachers were Ms Lauren and Ms Angelica and they are just phenomenal! He became the sweetest, funniest happy boy and was well prepared for kindergarten - so much so that his kindergarten teacher’s first question was “where did he go to preschool?!”. For background, we are a single parent and active duty military household and the Director Ms. Allison, has always been very responsive, supportive and kind ❤️ I couldn’t recommend this school enough.
We have been with Northwest Early Learning School for almost a year. They have been incredibly helpful for our entire family with the transition for my 4-year-old, as well as my 10 month old that just recently enrolled. Attending school is a very big adjustment to a little one's life and NWELS created a gentle and inviting environment for them to enter. The teachers are very loving and make appropriate accommodations when necessary. The generosity and understanding the staff shows me, as a parent, is quite comforting when uncertainty strikes. The education and various learning style implemented are creative, fun and have an awesome impact on my kids. I would highly recommend this school to parents interested/considering the Montessori learning approach. Thank You!
My daughter has been at this school for a year and a half, she started when she was 3 after her previous school closed. She is absolutely thriving at NWEL!! She’s had the same teacher the entire time we’ve been here and enjoys going each day. She really loves how they do music class once per week, and their seasonal recitals are adorable. I love how they do a lot of outdoor time, and have an awesome playground area. My only negative is that the parking lot is tiny and can sometimes be tricky but it’s not a huge deal.
Our daughter has gone to NWELS from infancy to now toddler age. We really enjoy this daycare. The racism comments are wild. Our daughter is very visibly Korean, wears shirts to school that literally say Korea! on them, and we never have experienced any race issues whatsoever. Her current teacher is literally very Japanese. When she sees her Hispanic teachers, she gets visibly excited. The infant, and wobbler classrooms have all been mixed race and gender, and the teachers are all multi cultural. I never thought in my life that id have to list this all out. Its pretty sad. Do better parents... Our daughter really enjoys the music class that this daycare does and the graduation performance they did last year was absolutely adorable. She comes home and has learned so many sweet things like blowing kisses and waving bye and singing songs, and is already trying to use the toilet before 2 years old. We like it here. The only downside is it is on the more expensive side, but what daycare isn't expensive right now.
I'm deeply disappointed with the quality of care provided by this daycare for my 3-year-old child. Initially, things seemed to be going well for the first few months, but then issues started to arise. The teachers began complaining that my child was not listening and was disruptive in class, which was completely out of character for him. He even started crying when we dropped him off at school, which was heartbreaking for us as parents. While the staff are friendly, it's evident that there is a lack of proper training and understanding of child development at this daycare. Children should be allowed to explore and learn in a supportive and inclusive environment, not forced to conform to strict rules and standards. The teachers may need better training and support to effectively manage challenging behaviors and create a positive environment for all children. Upon further investigation, we discovered that one of his favorite teachers had been fired for not following the rules. It became clear that my child's behavior change was a result of this disruption in his routine and the loss of a trusted caregiver. The new teachers seemed unable to connect with my child and were quick to label him as disobedient. When we requested to view the classroom cameras to better understand what was happening, the director refused. This lack of transparency and accountability only added to our concerns. It's evident that there is a lack of proper training and understanding of child development at this daycare. Children should be allowed to explore and learn in a supportive and inclusive environment, not forced to conform to strict rules and standards. Furthermore, the insinuation of racism within the daycare is deeply troubling. Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected regardless of their background. It's clear that this daycare is not meeting these fundamental principles. I urge parents to be diligent in researching and selecting a daycare that prioritizes the well-being and individuality of each child. Our children deserve better than to be treated as mere commodities in a profit-driven system.
