An amazing school with curriculum for small ones for babies to toddlers and up. I am impressed by the teachers and the environment. It is a wonderful experience for a child. My friend's have their children 2-4 yrs old and are loving going to school. Great people involved. Kudos to Northstar Montessori Preschool 💯👍
I found that Northstar was not very special-needs friendly. I enrolled my daughter when she was three years old and was very transparent from the beginning that she has autism and had already been in therapy for over a year at that point. The staff seemed confident that they could accommodate her needs, so I proceeded with enrollment. After one month, I was informed that they did not have the ability or resources to support her, and we were required to unenroll her. I do respect that they were honest and made an effort. However, I strongly believe that preschools should be prepared to accommodate children with special needs—whether that means having paraprofessionals, therapists, additional teachers, or other appropriate supports. Parents of children with special needs already feel incredibly isolated and are constantly being told by organizations and institutions, “We can’t handle your child.” Unfortunately, I had to add Northstar to that list. I’m sharing this so other families of children with special needs can make an informed decision and not go through the same experience we did. Inclusion is extremely important—not only for children with special needs, who deserve to feel welcomed and supported, but also for neurotypical children, who benefit from growing up alongside peers with different abilities and learning empathy, inclusion, and acceptance. I hope Northstar considers adding therapists or additional support staff in the future so they can become a more inclusive school for all children.
We have been here for six months and I am very impressed. The teachers are incredibly caring and supportive and my child has made tremendous progress so far in the short amount of time they have been here. I am happy we enrolled and look forward to continuing on here through preschool
My children had the most amazing experience here! Thank you to Tami and the entire Northstar team for all you do every day for the children. It is an enriching and loving environment and I know all the teachers care deeply about the job they are doing and the many children's lives they have impacted over the years. If I could give 100/5 stars I would! I am eternally grateful for their loving care. Northstar will always hold a special place in our hearts.
I have two children who have grown up at this fabulous place. I really feel my children are cared for impeccably. I read the negative review and couldn't disagree more. My 3.5 year old has not missed ONE DAY of school and she has been with Northstar since she was 5 months old!! She has never gotten anything but a runny nose after her first week! I know they UV the rooms to minimize germs!! I cannot say enough good things about the teachers. Have never had any issues with phone usage or social media. In fact, they have taken and sent me some of my fav pics of my kids. They are my friends and part of our family now. My kids are smarter, better people because of these two schools. Thank you Tami and team for all you do every single day, to be there for my kids, with your endless patience, intelligence and kindness.
