Northern Home For Children

I just wanted to give an appreciation post, Northern Children Services helped me and my daughters tremendously over the past 2 years everything I needed for my daughters they helped me get, I felt safe and a relief from escaping my situation I once was in, during times of my postpartum depression and everything I’ve been through it was always someone there to give me kind words, a listening ear. Me and my children needs always was met, they helped me receive everything back that I have lost I even started going to college while living in Northern. The neighborhood was great for me and my daughters nice people around the area, calm quiet place. I recommended a few of my friends who are in the same situation I was once in. My experience was great and I can’t be more thankful for them helping me and my daughters.

This place is horrible they threw me out with my 3-4 month baby girl with no where to go didn’t help me move out or nothing had my baby in one hand in my bags in the other they have no hot water they will go a month with no food staff is very nasty n disrespectful rooms are so dirty n living room area they don’t help u get no apartment staff doing drugs in the bathroom Aaron prince is horrible he lies on kids n put them out he or khan doesn’t care they lied on me to get me out n said I gave my baby to someone n went outside to go fight I could of got my child taken away or anything it’s bad there worst shelter ever n I been too alot

This place has gone down hill over the years. It is so hard to get in contact with my daughters BSC, who doesn't return calls and hasn't done a visit in months. She has had multiple TSS's, cause they don't come to work. Communication here is horrible. It is hard to get in contact with the managers, who don't answer their phones and don't return calls. The services that my daughter has received over the past two years are horrible and not benefical to her at all. The only reason that I haven't gone to another agency, is because the process is to long and aggrevating. Northern really needs to get their act together..

Please do not use this agency. They have ruined the adoption process for me. First they make snap decisions without and factual information to support it. Then they criticize you for anything that does not fit into how they think you life should run. Then they do not support you through the process. If I could give it less then one star I would. Oh, they are great at drawing you in. But they smile in your face then plot behind your back. PLEASE do not do it to yourself!

This agency is resilient!!! Northern has been through a lot over the years but still manages to service the community to the best of its ability. I will continue to support Northern in it's fight to serve and advocate for the wonderful community WE SERVE! #TeamNorthern
