What Parents Say
NOTE: Reviews appear to be for Nicklaus Children's Hospital, not the Early Learning Center. Reviews praise exceptional medical care, compassionate staff, clean facilities, and child-friendly amenities. One negative review cited staff dismissiveness, inefficient intake processes, and concerns about diagnostic accuracy.
We've had only good experiences at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. I feel like Nicklaus and Memorial Hospitals are both top notch hospitals with excellent customer service all around. The staff knows how to take care of everyone. At least this has been our personal experience with both hospitals. My son's endocrinologist, Dr. Diaz is associated with Nicklaus Children's Hospital. We came here the first time for a Growth Stimulation Test several months back. They were very efficient and organized. We parked in the Green Parking Garage which leads you straight to the area on the first floor to check in at the desk. We approached the main check in desk upon entrance from the parking garage elevator. They guide you to Patient Access around the corner for registration and to complete any paperwork. Once that is done, insurance info confirmed, payments processed, they inform you to go to designated area. We went upstairs to the infusion area where the staff was absolutely wonderful in taking care of my son. He got a room and they offered Xbox games for him to play. Apparently, all the rooms on this floor has Xbox games per bed. This was a generous donation to the hospital. What a wonderful gift for the kids. The growth stimulation testing took several hours but my kids was a trooper. The young lady taking care of him was seriously THE BEST. I thought I wrote down her name but alas, I did not. I'm sure they can locate who exactly took care of us with the patient info. Anyway, she was so patient, friendly and kind to my son. What every parent wants to see, especially when you're in a hospital environment and kids may be nervous as is. We came back again recently to get an MRI, as requested by the specialist. Same check in process except our appt was later in the afternoon at 6:30pm and it was so quiet and peaceful here during this time. Not chaotic at all. Like nobody here. The young lady who helped us register was very nice, even offered my son stickers when we were done. Then we went to the radiology dept where a nice man helped us prep for the MRI. Eventually, another young man who was the MRI technician, Alex, guided us to where they were going to take photos of the brain. Sounds scary and looks a bit intimidating but Alex helped ease any discomfort. He was great making my kid comfortable and very patient. The MRI took about 45 minutes and they have to be very still. I was able to sit in the same room with ear muffs, the MRI process is very loud and again, intimidating. My kid moved a little in the beginning and we thought we would have to come back but he eventually eased up and fell asleep during the process. Ha. Worked out nicely. Alex had left and another gentleman helped us finish up. All in all, they really do take such wonderful care of the families here! Beautiful and super clean hospital.
Our experience at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital was outstanding. My daughter had surgery here, and from the very beginning we felt she was in the best hands. The medical team was highly professional, caring, and attentive, always taking the time to explain each step and reassure us. The nurses were incredibly kind and compassionate, making sure my daughter was comfortable and well cared for. The facilities are excellent, and the entire environment gave us confidence and peace of mind. I am deeply grateful to all the staff for their dedication, patience, and genuine compassion. I would highly recommend this hospital to any family seeking specialized care for their children.
If I could leave a review for every single person we encountered at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, I absolutely would. From the doctors to the nurses and support staff, every interaction was filled with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care for our family. Two doctors in particular deserve special recognition: Dr. Ragheb and Dr. Lallas. They were nothing short of AMAZING—true God sends. They were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and deeply sympathetic toward our family during one of the hardest seasons of our lives. The nurses in Dr. Ragheb’s office are just as wonderful—always helpful, kind, and responsive. I know without a doubt that if I leave a voicemail, it will be returned. Ms. Julieth has been with us every single step of the way and is truly an angel. Her support, consistency, and care meant more to us than words can express. As well as Patricia :) There was also a male staff member who would come in to cheer up our son—after surgery and even during his week-long EEGs. He brought light and comfort during moments that could have been very overwhelming. He is such a sweet person and an incredible value to the team. God truly put this hospital in our path, and we feel so blessed to have met every single person who cared for our son. His surgery has been 100% successful so far, and he absolutely loves his nurses and doctors. He is so thankful for everything they’ve done to help him get to where he is today—and so are we. We will forever be grateful to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and the extraordinary people who work there. Thank you a million times over.
I am not satisfied with this experience, largely due to both staff conduct and the behavior of other parents during the check-in process. I had an emergency visit and was met with unnecessary conflict involving parents who claimed emergencies without clear direction from staff, which created a chaotic and stressful environment. The guard at the entrance was dismissive and spoke over me rather than allowing me to explain their situation and said he already knew what I was saying without me saying anything which was rather rude because with customer service you need to shut up and listen and be attentive to people. But then again we can’t expect perfect from a security guard. The intake process was inefficient, with the nurse walking us back and forth looking for a room instead of taking my child directly where she needed to be. This lack of organization added frustration during an already stressful time. If this were not the only children’s hospital available, I would strongly reconsider returning. The quality of care and coordination has noticeably declined since the remodel, and the lack of empathy and compassion from both staff and those being checked in is very disappointing. On a prior visit, my other child was cleared here, only to be diagnosed with pneumonia at an urgent care the following day. That experience, combined with this visit, raises serious concerns about the level of care being provided. Parents trust these facilities with their children during emergencies, and that trust should be treated with the seriousness it deserves. I understand and respect that true emergencies must be prioritized, and I have always been patient when others were taken ahead of me. However, clear communication, professionalism, and compassion should be consistent for all families. The overall experience was upsetting and concerning.
This place is a blessing and the staff is FANTASTIC! I am so very grateful for every single nurse, doctor, assistant and we even got a volunteer dog that made my son and I very happy 🙏🏼❤️ everything about our stay was wonderful. Very grateful. Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️
