I cannot say enough good things about Next to Parents Daycare and Ms. Jacqueline Woods. As a mother, it gives me so much peace knowing that my children are in a place where they are loved, cared for, and looked after like family. Ms. Woods is a genuinely sweet, God-fearing Christian woman who goes above and beyond for the children, parents, and staff. She truly has a heart for what she does. She pays close attention to each child individually—how they come into school, how they leave, and what goes on throughout the day. Every parent is made to feel seen and supported. She makes sure communication is always clear and thoughtful. Her school is extremely well-kept and professionally run. She consistently passes state inspections with flying colors because she follows every rule, regulation, and guideline by the book. The classrooms are always clean and organized, and every teacher goes through proper certification and training before working with the children. She also ensures teachers are not overwhelmed, maintaining healthy student-teacher ratios so every child receives the attention they need. During holidays, she makes sure every family goes home with gifts or special surprises—she puts her whole heart into making both kids and parents feel appreciated. You don’t find that everywhere. Even through a recent incident with a former staff member, Ms. Woods handled the situation with grace and professionalism. Despite being taken advantage of—loaning out money, having groceries stolen from the children, and more—Ms. Woods never once let it change her kind character or the way she leads. She protects her school and everyone in it, and now that the teacher in question is no longer employed, the entire atmosphere has improved. The new teachers are amazing, gentle, and focused—my kids absolutely love going to school now. If you’re a parent in Baton Rouge looking for a safe, nurturing, and spiritually grounded environment for your child, I highly recommend Next to Parents Daycare on North Ardenwood. Ms. Woods is a true blessing to this community.
