Choosing New Horizon Academy in Prior Lake has been the best decision! The teachers and staff are so caring, attentive, and genuinely love what they do. I get updates throughout the day with pictures of my little one smiling, playing, and having the best time—which gives me so much peace of mind while I’m at work. She’s absolutely thriving! On top of that, she now sleeps and eats better at home thanks to the routine they’ve helped her establish. I can’t recommend this center enough. Knowing my baby is in such loving and capable hands makes all the difference!
We have had the best experience at New Horizon Prior Lake! As a first time mom, they have completely put my mind at ease and I know my little guy is in great hands. Teresa, the director immediately made us feel like this was the place for us and answered all of my questions. All of the infant teachers have been incredible including Grace, Jen and Leanne! The app is incredible and always makes me feel like I know exactly what he’s doing throughout the day! We know we made the best choice for our family in New Horizon Prior Lake!
Drop-In Daycare Experience Our experience attempting to use this location as a back-up/drop-in option for my twin 3yo toddlers was beyond disappointing. The two biggest issues being the teacher we were assigned to barely interacting with my toddlers to help them acclimate to the new surroundings and witnessing the teacher next door grabbing a child by the arm that had let himself into our classroom through an unlocked door. The Director Theresa witnessed both of these as she was standing next to us and followed me out to the parking lot as I was in tears at how uncomfortable we were made to feel and how unsafe/bizarre the entire experience felt for such a highly rated and established daycare. She apologized and acknowledged both situations and mentioned she would “speak to them”. However, I called Corporate to escalate because the entire experience was so terrible and received an apology from the District Manager and was basically told “you have no reason to trust us that this never happens, but this never happens…” and was notified that they self reported the incident involving the child being grabbed by his arm, but safe to say we will not be using any New Horizons locations in our future, especially not this one.
My son has been in the infant room at NHA Prior Lake for a few months now and I am very happy with the care he receives here. My son is happy to see his teachers when we arrive, and I get regular updates throughout the day. They have him do lots of fun activities and art projects. The staff are friendly, experienced, and professional. I've been very impressed with how clean and organized the facilities are, while also feeling very warm and welcoming. I appreciate the extra steps they take to ensure the health and safety of the children like requiring shoe removal before entering the infant room, for example, among other health protocols that other centers I visited did not require.
Customized infant childcare in a center! The infant room is well run and I am always impressed with how well Grace keeps routine and maintains focus on the baby's needs. She is so aware of who needs to be attention or to be rocked just so to get them to sleep. I pump and provide breast milk and Grace and the infant team have been mindful to not waste it but also make sure my baby has what he needs. They ask me to update the meal chart so they can continue to explore more foods and they have even washed his clothes (no lasting stains) one time when he got extra messy. My 7 month baby has loved the environment full of baby toys, sturdy surfaces to pull up on and other babies to socialize with. I am at ease knowing that he has a safe baby intended space. I have attended another local center that has infant childcare that I really loved for my other kids but just felt like it was not organized and focused on my family's needs. I am happy I looked around for another place for our third baby and I'm thankful to have found the PL New Horizon. The director, Teresa, is organized and accommodating and the the team is supportive even in the middle of our family's chaotic transition to having a third baby and two kids at different schools. I'll also share- the convenience of having diapers provided and the staff available to handle breastmilk from the freezer is just a cherry on top.
