I was separated from my husband and going through a difficult time when our two young daughters attended this Child Care Center. The people here were wonderful! I had suffered abuse in my first marriage. It was very traumatic for me. Looking back I realize that this contributed to the marital troubles I was having. I really needed support and understanding and the people at New Heights offered me that. I was staying at a shelter and looking for an apartment. I felt desperate to take charge of my life. They treated me like a human being and a capable Mom! I often did not feel like I was either of those things! They kept a communication log for me and told me how my daughters' were doing every day. In addition, they welcomed the people who were working with my three year old. She had been diagnosed with a speech delay and they allowed her speech therapist to visit her right at the Center. She also had a social worker who was supporting her emotional/social growth and that wonderful woman came right to the Center to see my daughter as well.As for my youngest daughter, she was only a year old during that time. With the support of the people at New Heights both of my girls were helped through the difficult transitions that they were making. New Heights keeps a very good daily routine that I feel is reassuring to the younger children especially. They also have some wonderful staff working with all of the age groups. My family is now reunited and doing very well. We are all receiving ongoing counseling. I also recently returned to school to study to be a nurse. Our three year old is speaking more and more lately. She is attending preschool for the second straight year this fall and she loves it! Our one year old is now almost two. She is a smiley happy girl and very mellow and easygoing! She will be attending daycare two days a week in the fall. I feel that her positive experience at New Heights will make that transition easier for her. New Heights was there for my family when we really needed help. They seem to believe that supporting mothers and struggling families is often the best way to support children. They also put action behind that belief! That was my experience with them and I am very proud to recommend them!
