Mustard Seed Kidz

Parents, please do your research before enrolling your child at this center. I toured the school and received 3–5 follow-up calls encouraging me to enroll my 3-year-old son. Based on those conversations, I believed they were prepared to support him. My son attended for less than a full week before being expelled. Like many toddlers starting a new daycare, he experienced separation anxiety. Adjustment takes time — often more than a few days — especially for young children in a brand-new environment. Instead of working with us on a transition plan or offering strategies to help him acclimate, the school quickly escalated concerns. On his final day, I was called to pick him up because he ran from the playground area. When I arrived, my 3-year-old was barricaded under the front desk, visibly distressed, with tears and mucus on his face. He appeared to be in a full fight-or-flight response. He was suspended that day and shortly after expelled for being labeled “aggressive.” There was no collaborative discussion, no behavior plan, no transition support — just immediate removal. Every child deserves patience, empathy, and age-appropriate understanding. Toddlers are not teenagers; they are still learning how to regulate emotions in new environments. I did not feel that my son was given compassion, grace, or the opportunity to adjust. If you are a parent of a sensitive child, a child with separation anxiety, or a young Black boy who may already be unfairly labeled, I strongly encourage you to ask detailed questions about how behavior concerns are handled and what support systems are in place before enrolling. There are centers that believe in partnership with parents and child development — I would recommend seeking those options.

My son has been attending the VPK program provided here. My son and I both enjoy this school as well as the staff. We truly appreciate all the teachers here they work very hard not only with the students but they are very involved with parents as well. Many times I left feeling very safe and cared for as they make this such a safe environment for my son. I have certainly seen a lot of improvement in only a short period of time and I thank them tremendously! Well done 👍 I would also like to give a special shout out to my son’s teachers, Cinda and Carissa, both of these wonderful ladies are awesome! We love mustard seed kidz! So thankful to have such a wonderful and loving staff. We’ve been enrolled in the year one to pre vpk classes and have had excellent communication and educational experiences. I wanted to personally thank Ms Carissa, Ms Donna, Ms Brittanee, and the wonderful ladies at the front desk (the directors and assistant directors) for having such a positive impact on my child. My son loves it there and it is genuinely so nice to know he is loved and cared for by so many at the school.

Great daycare! Staff loves the kids and treats them like their own. Mrs. Donna is amazing! I feel so confident and comfortable knowing my child is in great hands! She is so kind, loving and patient with all the kids. She communicates with us really well! All around great place! We are so blessed to have found mustard seed kidz!

A wonderful place for little ones to learn and grow! From the moment you walk through the doors, you're struck by how incredibly clean and organized everything is. It's clear that the staff takes pride in maintaining a healthy and inviting space for the children. This attention to cleanliness gives us such peace of mind, especially with our little one's developing immune system. However, what truly makes MSK special is the amazing staff. The teachers (especially Mrs. Donna)and caregivers are genuinely passionate about working with children and it shines through in every interaction. They are warm, patient, communicative, and truly invest in the well-being and development of each child. They offer a fantastic blend of age-appropriate activities that are both fun and educational, keeping the kids engaged and eager to learn. The communication with parents is excellent! We wholeheartedly recommend Mustard Seed Kidz to any family seeking a high-quality, caring, and clean environment for their children. They have truly created a fantastic place for little ones to thrive!
