Our experience with the south campus was incredibly disappointing. Upon application, we made it known to staff that our two year old was speech delayed. Over the course of a month and a half, staff would mention to myself and my husband that our child struggled to keep his hands to himself. We provided verbal feedback as to what tactics both the family and his occupational therapist used to redirect his hitting, grabbing, and pushing. I offered to begin sending his speech and occupational therapists into the building to help, which was in the process of being scheduled with the providers. One afternoon a few weeks later, I received a phone call that I must obtain TSS services for my child by the end of the month or he was expelled. After contacting the Alliance for Infants and Toddlers, we were told TSS services had over a four month waiting list in our county. I informed the director of this and I was told he needed a TSS within three weeks or he would still be expelled. Myself and my sons therapy professionals met with the director to discuss alternatives until my child would qualify for TSS during the waiting period. Both speech and occupational therapy offered to come in to the center on an increased basis to help the staff and my child cope with the behaviors they were seeing. Staff were inflexible to suggestions made and unwilling to give us longer than three weeks. If your child struggles with speech, sensory processing, spatial relations, or is non-neurotypical in any way, I would strongly suggest that you look elsewhere for childcare.
Sherry, Jessica, and staff did a great job with our preschool daughter, particularly while we faced some family challenges. Would definitely recommend this childcare center.
