What Parents Say
Mt. Washington Children's Center receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from long-term families who praise the caring, experienced staff and strong academic preparation for kindergarten. Parents consistently describe the center as a loving, family-oriented environment with excellent programming across all age groups. One review raised concerns about property maintenance and sidewalk accessibility.
This daycare demonstrates a clear disregard for the surrounding community. The property is poorly maintained, with snow shoveled into large mounds that completely block the sidewalk. Even if pedestrians are able to navigate the snow, the daycare’s fence further obstructs the public right-of-way. As a result, community members—including children in the daycare’s care—are forced to walk in the street to get around the property. For an organization that claims to be community-driven, this reflects a significant lack of consideration for public safety and community respect.
My children have been attending Mt Washington Children's Center for over 7 years now. We absolutely love it. The staff treat my children like their own. My oldest graduated 2 years ago and still begs to go with us when we pick up his brother so he can talk to his old teachers and the director. I felt the program more than prepared my son for Kindergarten. He went into school with not only classroom behavior basics but everything he needed to know academically as well. We have felt loved and cared for every day we have gone to MWCC. We have 2 years left until my youngest graduates and I am already sad thinking about saying goodbye.
We sent our son to MWCC from 2018 to 2022, and our experience was exactly what we needed. Originally waitlisted, but when a spot opened in the 1-year-old room, we couldn't have been happier. Our son formed lasting friendships, some of which continue to this day. After trying part-time care, we quickly realized we needed full-time care and that MWCC was the right choice. The center checked most of our boxes, including offering hot lunches, a spacious outdoor play area, enriching indoor activities, and, most importantly, kind and strong teachers. The teachers here have a unique ability to manage the children with care and ensure their safety, whether on neighborhood walks, at the playground, or during field trips. Even when the challenges of COVID-19 emerged, the center's commitment to the health and safety of both staff and students was evident and reassuring. We also appreciated how the center handled necessary price increases. They communicated openly and courteously, explaining the improvements they planned to make, like the new roof. Overall, MWCC provided our family with peace of mind and a nurturing environment for our son. We highly recommend it!
I sent my three children here over a period of seven years and highly recommend it. They were provided with a loving home away from home, cared for by teachers who loved them, and they learned so much. The center has been around for 50 years+ and has built a safe, trustworthy, and fun environment for children. They truly make you feel like family!
I have been going here for over 17 years. All 4 of my children have attended this daycare/ preschool. Even after I moved to the North Hills, I still traveled across town to get my kids to this daycare. It has a great program at all the different ages. My children were completely prepared for Kindergarten thanks to this preschool. On most days, my kids were having so much fun that they asked to stay later. We have always felt like family and not a customer. I highly recommend this daycare to everyone!
