What Parents Say
MSD GeoKids receives mostly positive reviews (5 of 6 ratings are 5/5 stars). Parents praise the caring teachers, hands-on management, thoughtful Reggio Emilia curriculum, extended hours, and beautiful facilities. One parent reported concerns about behavioral management and inclusion practices in their child's classroom.
My child has been attending GeoKids for over a year, and we absolutely love every aspect of the school so far. In practice, it’s very working-parent-friendly, with convenient 8 AM – 6 PM hours, a great location close to Highway 101, and few closure days other than holidays. Snacks are provided, and we pack lunch ourselves. The teachers are genuinely caring, and the director and management team are extremely hands-on. Unlike some schools that focus heavily on marketing, admissions, or fundraising, GeoKids leadership is actively involved in classrooms and even steps in as substitute teachers when needed. The teacher-to-student ratio is true to what’s promised and very transparent. The classrooms are thoughtfully designed — creative, organic, and filled with handmade materials crafted by the teachers themselves. There’s plenty of messy play, which the kids love, and it’s wonderful to see how much fun and learning they get from it. Since joining GeoKids, my child has become happier, more social, and more confident. The curriculum is comprehensive, and the school keeps parents engaged with class weekly or school wide monthly newsletters and frequent photo updates. I truly feel that children are respected here, parents are given opportunities to learn alongside them, and the teachers clearly love what they do and treat teaching as a meaningful career — not just a job.
GeoKids is a wonderful daycare. All three of my children have been there, and we couldn’t be happier. The environment is beautiful — especially the amazing backyard. The teachers follow the Reggio Emilia educational approach, which nurtures children’s mental resilience, independence, collaboration, and deep connections. They are warm, educated, and truly skilled in how they support and guide the kids. We feel very lucky to have this school in our community.
We attended GeoKids a few years ago (within the last 5 years). I wanted to share our experience here. The campus is nice, and it is good for the school that they can finally stay at the same place. While GeoKids is proud to be a "child-led" environment, our experience with the execution was mixed. We were in a class with a group of active children. During one period, my son (who was three at the time) came home daily saying he was being hit by his best friend. When I first asked the teachers, I was told everything was fine. However, after asking for the third time, a teacher explained that because of the frequent physical contact, children were told to go on a stage to fight each other, and the winner could stay to fight the next one (with rules like "below the shoulder"). My son did not understand the concept or rules of boxing, so for him, it was just being placed in a situation to hit or be hit every day. My child was a transfer student. Although he made some good friends quickly, some kids were not welcoming to newcomers. One child said, "You WERE/ARE not in GeoKids." My son replied, "I AM in GeoKids." A teacher standing nearby echoed, "Frankly speaking, you WERE not in GeoKids." For a school that prides itself on SEL, this could have been a good moment to teach inclusion and friendship, but the teacher decided to stand behind the bullies. It is worth noting that the teachers involved were not temporary staff but had been with the school for years. Overall, the environment gave us a "Lord of the Flies" vibe. I know friends who have had great experiences there, so the experience depends heavily on the cohort.
They have excellent teachers. It was a great place for our daughter and us to grow together.
Expensive, but excellent caretakers and teachers for infant/toddler care.
