What Parents Say
Reviews are mixed with significant variation in parent experiences. While some parents praise the staff and facility improvements, others report serious concerns including alleged inappropriate staff behavior with children, poor classroom conditions, and unresolved billing issues with the agency's assistance programs.
This non profit agency helped me in February and approved to pay my electric. Two months later I was notified it was never paid. So they re sent pledge promising to pay. Another month goes by and again they did not receive payment. The electric company has informed me that if they do not receive payment by June, I will be responsible with the payment of $450. I contacted Macca again and was told they are not the one to make the payment. They just approve us so they do not pay our bills and there’s nothing that can be done. So pretty much this agency did not hold up their end and it’s putting me in a worse position that I was from before because I have to pay fees.
At first it was nice that my 3 year old was going to a program but that quickly changed. My son had an accident at home and burned himself. The teacher "Mrs. Jill" talked my 3 year old into saying that I did it and also talked him into saying that he was afraid of me. They made up lies along with a transporter from jaunt (transportation). Also, my son learned nothing the whole time he was there. All he did was color pictures. No prepping for school. I am so happy that he is in a real school now. I would not recommend this program. He was in a basement classroom that had huge spiders and roaches when we first went to intake to register him. 2 days before school, she didn't even have to classroom set up it looked very empty. It's free, so I guess you get what you pay for.
I went there to apply head start program for my son. I asked several questions related the program, but their attitude about responding is absolutely rude, and I was very disappointed with the two female staffs' attitude. She yelled me about what I asked, and kept saying she tried to help me to understand (I can't believe it because of her attitude), but I really would like to record all the conversation between us.
They were so helpful after I broke my arm and required assistance with rent. It's not a long, drawn out process like you'd experience trying to get assistance from the city. If you come prepared, they will generally commit to help you on the first meeting.
Lovely ceremony for all the kids! Teachers sure did do a marvelous job!
