My daughter and son both went to MSUH, and I feel it is one of the best learning environments available to 3-6 years old children in East Cleveland. Maria and the other faculty are knowledgeable, professional, responsible, kind, and truly amazing human beings. Every child is treated with love, kindness and respect. We enjoyed each wonderful year we spent there, full of sunshine and love, as our kids were fulfilled both emotionally and academically. The bonds with other parents and children we met there have grown into life-long friendships. Highly recommend.
There is nowhere else we would send our little guy for his first schooling experience! The Montessori School of University Heights has been such a wonderful environment, and our son has grown and developed an incredible amount in his first year. Maria Wood, along with the rest of the loving and inclusive staff, worked with our son for many weeks to help him feel comfortable in his new setting. They were communicative and transparent to us as parents throughout the school year. Not only does our son now have some important practical life skills, he also loves and respects his peers, feels comfortable at school, and has an independent willingness to learn and try new activities. We can’t wait to see what his future holds and have the utmost confidence in the experience he is receiving at the school.
Both of my children went to the school through kindergarten- it was such a wonderful, special experience. Teaching stressed independence, respect, diversity, inclusion, creativity, working to one’s full potential... my kids were so well prepared for first grade. My husband and I often reflect that the foundation they received at MUH continues to influence them positively. The school includes parent courses that help bring Montessori development to parenting as well. Thank you, Maria and faculty, for your dedication, love, and patience! I highly recommend this school.
My children thrived in this environment. I cannot say enough about the quality of education and how amazing the teachers were with the students. Also, all of the families were very welcoming which created a great community. Both of my children were extremely well prepared for grade school thanks to MSUH.
We highly recommend MSUH to anyone looking for a great start to their child’s education outside the home. The dedicated and diverse staff fosters a peaceful, loving environment that is centered around the children. We have witnessed teachers with the rare skill to effectively and prayerfully teach both to groups of children as well as to individual students. The education is not just the traditional subjects like reading, writing and arithmetic, though. It is also about helping each child become the best person that he or she can be. I’m sorry to read that Lori’s family did not experience MSUH as we have. In our experience, one of the blessings of MSUH is the diversity throughout the community—both across the staff and among the students—that is embraced and celebrated. With respect to how the staff treats children of different genders or races, our experience has been great. We sent our caucasian daughter to MSUH years ago, and our adopted bi-racial son just finished his second year there. The only difference in their treatment has been exclusively based on their different learning styles, and that’s a blessing. The teachers recognize our children’s specific needs and adjust as necessary to best address those differing needs. However, the staff’s treatment of our children has been the same in the steady love of, and respect for, them.
