We love the MSKM! Our first born went there from age 1 1/2 to 4 years and our second born just started there too at 1 years old. Knowing from the past how loving and caring all the teachers and the director are, it has been such an easy transition for our family. We were also so happy to have our second born start in Ms Kinda's infant classroom, who is truly wonderful. Our first born always had so much fun during the day and still talks about her old teachers and the friends she made there. Besides hosting fun events throughout the year, the teachers, particularly Ms Priya in the preschool room, also did such a good job preparing our daughter for transitional Kindergarten. She learned so much more there than I could have ever taught her. We are excited for our second born to be part of the Montessori community again
All our 3 kids went to Montessori of Kearny Mesa!!! All the staff care for and love our kids. We are very fortunate to be able to enroll our kids here. Ms. Amitha, the school director, is the best! She is very understanding, compassionate, and truly cares for the families. Enroll your kids here! 🫶🏼
Moving to California was a big step in not only my life but my children. I was so scared to put my kids into school all I wanted to as for my kids to be in great loving hands. The day I took the tour of the school, I enrolled them the next day. The teachers were so welcoming. I’ve noticed the growth and progress from both of my girls and it’s honestly incredible. My oldest was shy and now she is just interacting with her friends. Montessori school of Kearny Mesa will forever have a special place in my heart, they helped my family adjust to California they are the reason why we feel so welcomed!
I am so grateful to have found Montessori School of Kearny Mesa (MSKM) for my 2 children. The director truly embraces the Montessori concept and practice and the staff, many who have been there for years and years, are warm, welcoming, patient, caring and passionate. Everyone takes the safety and security of the children very seriously, and I feel confident that my children are very well cared for when they're there. If there are any behavioral concerns with children, the staff are quick to have open and constructive communication with the parents/family to ensure the child(ren) is/are supported in their needs moving forward. They plan great activities and experiences for the kids that foster learning and growth I also love that hey have a cook who provides freshly made lunch to all the kiddos. We first started at MSKM in Jan 2022 with our oldest son when he had just turned 2. Being a covid baby, we really wanted him to get socialized and establish good routines, all while learning and growing. He attended MSKM until Aug 2024 when he started UTK. Our second son currently attends MSKM and has been there for over 2 years (started when he was 6 months old). We have had experiences in all stages of classrooms and with all the teachers, and I have had no complaints. The growth and advancements my younger son has made while attending MSKM would not have happened if it wasn't for the support and attention of the staff. I cannot recommend MSKM enough and I am beyond thankful for the care and support that the entire staff have given my children.
This was my 3-year-old daughter’s first school. On her first day, she came home and said she had been hit by a teacher during nap time. We didn’t believe it at first and continued sending her. Over the next few days, she wet herself multiple times, and her water bottle returned almost untouched. On Friday, she came home with visible bruises on her face and forehead, along with deep pinch marks on her arms. At that point, we started to believe something inappropriate had happened at school. We reported it to the police, and a formal investigation was opened. Unfortunately, the school’s surveillance system only showed live video and didn’t save any recordings, so there was no footage to review. Our daughter said she was taken out of the classroom alone, and that one teacher might have seen what happened, but that teacher denied witnessing anything. Police conducted forensic interviews with the children through trained child psychologists, and the results supported the children’s accounts. However, due to lack of concrete evidence, the case has made no progress even after a year. This experience caused serious emotional trauma to both my daughter and our family. I’m sharing this to raise awareness, in hopes that no other child will have to go through something like this.
