What Parents Say
Montessori Academy of La Puente receives mixed reviews. Most parents praise the warm, caring staff, enriching Montessori curriculum, and pleasant outdoor campus environment. However, a few parents report issues with management rudeness, high tuition costs for non-subsidized families, and concerns about understaffing and overcrowding in infant/toddler rooms.
Good for low income families but not for those who don’t qualify for the funded families. They called it “private” program bc parents pay out of pocket. The under 2 years old classrooms capacity is 29 kids(that’s so many!!) and tuition is over 3k dollars for Monday to Friday full days. That’s incredibly expensive. Can’t believe.
I love this school; and I do not say that lightly. I had the worst possible experience at a former daycare center (in a different state) and am very cautious when choosing a center to care for my children. The staff here are very warm and welcoming and I can tell they really care for my kids. My youngest son is in the young toddler room and his teachers are so sweet and my son loves them! They have helped him work on his language skills and he is so proud of the projects he gets to do in the room. My older son is in the TK room and is thriving. Hes learning math skills, the sounds of letters, and beginning to read. I am BLOWN AWAY! I highly recommend this center for their enriching environment and incredible staff. Thank you Montessori Academy of La Puente!
As i've shared on Yelp, this is my daughter's second year in attendance. I was referred by a neighbor. This is a sweet school put simply. She qualified for a reduction in tuition after I met with the director and provided proper documentation. The school is small and has bungalow like single story classrooms, white exterior textured stucco, spanish textile roofing, and a forest green ornamented gate covered by huge trees and playgrounds. -it really adds to the atmosphere the children play in. Currently, they temperature screen and give parents a questionnaire, her class size is small; 8 children. No toys allowed, however her teacher has done a great job with the skill sets they already have; painting, math, learning astronomy, about the country we live in. I'm happy my daughter is growing and socializing with a great staff and most importantly other children her age.
We placed both our children at the MA of La Puente. My daughter for the after school drop off program and my son for the all day program. The entire school staff worked with me while both my son and I learned to let go of each other (they had been under the love and care Grandma's prior). After a rough transition, my son loved it there. He would even ask me to not pick him up until very late. My son learned academics but more than that, he learned to play, be social and many other qualities that I am appreciate of. I particularly fell in love with the setting: trees, shade, nature, individual classrooms filled with play like instructional supplies. I am grateful for the entire staff and for always working with us and answering our questions and concerns and being mega flexible.
This is my daughters first year that she has been attending this school for the LAUP program. I am so pleased with the performance of the teachers and staff my daughter has learned so much in the couple months that she has been attending. I noticed right away her progress .The teachers make me feel at ease to know that they actually care about my daughters growth and development, and I can't Thank them enough for going above and beyond to take interest in my daughter on a personal and educational level.
