What Parents Say
Mom's Tot Spot has highly polarized reviews, with most parents praising caring staff and child development, but several serious safety violations reported including a child left unattended for 18 minutes, unsupervised outdoor time, and cleanliness issues that prompted state inspections.
My daughter attended MTS from the infant to wobblers class and enjoyed being with her friends and teachers. Sometimes she would even get sad when she had to go home. Currently our son attends and is learning so much with his teachers and is happy enough to talk to them now (it's like his little secret). Our daughter attended the summer program and always had nice stories to share at pickup. We plan on having her in after school care here once she begins kindergarten at Langley. Miss Tiffany has always been very communicative as well as Miss Cortney and Miss Ebony. If I ever had any concerns I was able to soak with someone in person and through brightwheel.
Rewriting my review because the response is unacceptable and disappointing given the fact that you received a violation for leaving a 4 year old alone by himself in harms way. Then you lied on me saying I shook my son in front of you, and you are all mandated reporters and didn’t report that? Seriously, who raised you people. Disgusting. I will make sure to let the inspector of social services know that you have made false accusations against me and I would like to open up an investigation myself. If there aren’t any findings of this said shake I hope there are repercussions. In response to your original message about taking responsibility for my son’s actions when we told you we had him in testing and was getting him the therapy he needed. You clearly are unaware of what neurodivergence is and I am so happy you responded to show exactly what I mean by being incompetent we told you, my husband and I that my son is in behavioral therapy. We told you this so for you to say take accountability sweetheart that’s all we have done was take accountability especially when both of your teachers put hands on my son then you decided to put my son in a two-year-old classroom. Let’s be smart here you have an education use it. My son was found by the state inspector by himself in the hallway at your facility. The state inspector said that he was alone for 18 minutes. Anything could have happened to him, but you’re telling me that you went above and beyond for my son? The first time you all said my son was having issues I asked for a meeting with you all and his teacher. That teacher ended up leaving your operation and a meeting was never scheduled until I saw my son being handled incorrectly physically. My neurodivergent child has been physically, mentally and verbally abused at this trash of a place. Multiple inspections and safety violations especially when it came to my child. If I could give this place 0 stars I sure would because my neurodivergent child was left unattended outside in the hallway for approximately 18 minutes. Anything could have happened to him. You can review the results on the Virginia social services website. There have been multiple safety issues but this is the most important one. I called the inspector and she told me that Tiffany and her team told the inspector that they aren’t able to pull any videos or footage from previous days which is a lie. The inspector wanted to see how long my son was alone and it was confirmed that he was alone for more than enough time that there should have been a head count. Most of the teachers there are incompetent, and insubordinate especially to the director. I would double check the credentials and qualifications these teachers have. at the end of the day your responsibility is to ensure the kids are safe, and you failed! That’s why the results concluded in a violation. Your establishment is not safe for children!! It’s written in black and white. My son didn’t come to you with issues but once you brought the issues he was having to our attention we got him help! The director Tiffany is always gone has no clue what’s going on in her operation. They didn’t care enough to care about my child. Now this is the result! I pulled him because you made us feel like a burden and you couldn’t wait till he left. At the end of the day if you’re trying to keep your doors open you don’t blame the consumer for the experience you provided. Please do better for the community because I am not the only complaint just the loudest one. The problem is you all, my son has yet to have these problems at his new facility. Zero issues. All the violations and inspections from social services prove it.
I would like to add to the review that taken down is this. -Please take accountability for your part that was played in the situation of our child’s behavior. -Don’t lie about our child being shaken when that never happened, if it did please pull the camera footage of the alleged shake. We will wait…. Oh yeah that’s right MTS doesn’t have ability to “pull footage” 🙄. -Lastly please ensure the teachers you have employed at your place of business actually follows your protocols and procedures as far as contacting parents from their personal devices and have an hour long conversation then, say said conversation never happened the next day. Please do your research on before sending your children here. It takes a village but unfortunately some villagers aren’t really on board to be apart of the village.
My children have been attending this daycare since they were six weeks old. Through my observations over the past years I’ve seen how the staff cares and loves the children in their care. There may be some challenging days but they always end in love and hugs. Everyone cares about the growth and development of the children and do their absolute best to make sure the children are prepared for the next stages of their schooling.
We went to tour the Daycare and one parent showed up to pick her child up only to discover that he was outside wondering away from his group in a location alone. This could of been my child......sighs. Also, the same day my husband took our daughter to potty and the bathroom was not clean. He mention that there was a dead roach on the bathroom and it looked like it had been there for a while. This made me change my mind about sending my child to this daycare. The rates were very reasonable.
